Without a knob it's hard to turn, but it has a total range of 180 degrees. Fully clockwise is 0, fully ccw is max capacitance (which measures 128-135 pF on the ones I got). Of the six terminals, the two wide ones in the centre of each side are joined to each other, and are one terminal of your capacitor. Of the 4 corner pins, one is the useful one. Turn the knob fully left, and find the pin with a multimeter, but be careful with your fingers because it will read a higher capacitance of your body! I think one of the other corner pins also gives a (much smaller) variable capacitance of a few pF - the two capacitors may be for the old OSC and ANT circuits (see old radio books!)

Disappointed it didn't come with knobs and connections not what I needed
