It's a shame we need this but I'm glad it's available
I recommend this item for anyone who travels with luggage. The item itself is easy to work with. Not heavy, but sturdy. Setting up your numbers is straight forward. There are a few buttons to get the hang of, but it's easy. Besides the good quality of the product, why do I recommend this? I travel by train regularly, normally with a huge suitcase. Unfortunately you can't always keep your suitcase in eye shot when travelling by train, and even if you can, some person will still try to steal it, as happened with me. I was sat very close to my suitcase, and this person knew it was my suitcase... and yet still tried to walk off with it. The train stops, I'm reading a book, and as I look up to see the view, a thief is literally just about to step off the train with my suitcase. I jump up and corner him so he can't get off, whilst telling him loudly exactly what I thought of him as he looked very sheepish and embarrassed in front of the whole train, unable to get away. But it still upsets me now some very sentimental stuff was almost gone forever. Whilst not foolproof, it's a deterrent. I lock my suitcase to the luggage rack. I was and still am concerned with what staff may say but so far no problems. I've also heard some funny comments about it, but I couldn't care less. Not knowing who the suitcase belongs to, I've heard 'who on earth would lock their suitcase like that tut tut tut'. They soon shut up when I speak up and say 'you would do it too if you saw someone attempt to audaciously steal your stuff in front of you'. This is not for high risk stuff, and it won't turn your item into an impenetrable fortress, it's not designed for that. As I say, someone may try to steal your stuff regardless of this and if they are determined this won't stop them. But, for certain situations it may work as a deterrent or a surprise. It may turn off the opportunist.

Good deterrent
Handy little deterrent but won’t save you from a half determined thief with pliers or a hammer, largely due to the plastic body. Good length on the wire, extremely easy to set a new code and operate in seconds. Ideal for securing something in plain sight from an opportunist swiping something.

Lite bike security - prevention against chancers
Reassuring (and for the price of a few coffees!) to lock your bike at coffee stops - vs others that dont. Where I often ride and stop after is a busy London park cafe; quite a few nice bikes have vanished from here over the years just being picked up and ridden away while owners chatter. Lite to carry, I dont even notice it. The lock itself is easy enough to use - just DONT FORGET the combination number you set! There are few buttons - to recoil the cable, to unlock, and another...just press away until your thing happens! Once unlocked and cable undone/retracted, you can turn the combo dials back to random numbers, and still lock again by pushing the shackle end in when you next stop (so your combo number can remain out of sight, until the next unlocking). The cable on this is long enough, a shorter on would provide a similar function for the purpose (not trying to capture wheels etc) but good to have the option in case locking around larger objects or a few bikes together. Yes pliers would chop the cable, but this is only designed to prevent opportunistic chancers walking off with stuff - I find highly reassuring, rather than constantly glancing up/over shoulder etc.

Almost indispensable.
This is a useful piece of kit. It's well made and easy to carry and use. Fed up with carrying a heavy lock I bought it for 'cafe-stops' when out on bike club rides. It's just about ok for that but I would always use something more substantial if the bike were out of sight or in a 'tricky' area. However, for securing things like suitcases or anything left in a public area like train or bus luggage spaces it is perfect for deterring the opportunist thief. Keep it in your rucksack or even pocket - it's light and compact enough.

Light and usable cable lock
I bought this cable lock for when I ride and stop for a coffee so I don't leave the bike unatended . It is light enough to carry in my cycling jersey in the back pocket and it is easy to use. The cable locks easyly and the numbers in the combination are easy to operate even with gloves and easy to see as well. The pricing is good and it was delivered on time and safely. I am happy with the purchase but be aware, this is not a long term safery device, it is only good to stop someone getting on the bike and riding away with it. If you leave it unattended for too long it is not going to stop someone from stealing your bike as I guess the cable can be snapped with not much effort if the right tool is used.

Slightly disappointing but does the job
The device was lighter than I thought and it took me a long time to figure out how to use it. That’s mainly down to me being cack handed and I initially impressed something prematurely and the code didn’t set but fortunately we were able to back track and figure it out. I’ve now worked it all out and it does do the job but, as I said, it feels a little light weight and flimsy. It arrived promptly though. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt…it does fit around three bikes comfortably

I used this to lock my skis up on a ...
I used this to lock my skis up on a recent trip and kept it in the pocket of my jacket when not in use. Very simple to use, and it feels quite secure despite the small size. Only downside I can think of is that there are 3 buttons on the lock and I kept forgetting which one does what (one is to retract the cable, one to unlock, and one to reset the code). Not a huge issue but some kind of markings would be helpful.

Very good value for the price
Very good value for the price. Lightweight and seems to be sufficiently strong and secure for what I use it for: anchoring a bag to a cafe table to avoid casual theft when I get up to go back to the counter for a refill etc, or securing my bike when I leave it very briefly to go into a shop (provided it's not in a high-risk area: this Bosvision lock isn't intended to be high security.) It's easy to set and change the combination, and I've had no problems so far with any part of the mechanism. (The spring for retracting the cable is quite strong, so be careful to avoid injury with this.) I can't yet comment on long-term use, but if any problems arise I'll add to this post.

No pesa nada.

Great ski lock for peace of mind
This fits easily in a jacket pocket while skiing, and is quick to extend and wrap around a pair of skis on a ski rack. While it's not a heavy duty lock, it provides enough deterrence that a thief would likely just grab another pair. It's easy to use and pretty self explanatory. It's quite small, fits easily in any ski jacket pocket (I keep it inside zipped while skiing) and is thin. Definitely recommend picking this up as a good value way to have peace of mind while you hit the lodge between runs
