Intel i7 5960X Extreme Octa Core CPU Processor (3.0 GHz, 20 MB Cache, 140 W, Socket 2011-V3)

This chip is bloody amazing! I had the old x980 chip and the newer one is a hell lot faster. I use it with an Asus X99 WS motherboard and an Nvidia M5000 for my workstation, I use it for photoshop (video and photo conversions/rendering), Microsoft Vision Studio for web development and audio creation. I can render a video and a sound and work on photoshop all at the same time and the monster of a CPU will ask for more work load. As for gaming, this is a bad choice. The CPU uses 1 maybe 2 core at best and the rest just stay and do nothing. Do not misunderstand me, it's perfect for gaming but is less pound/performance you get for a quad i5 or i7. In a nut cell, this CPU excels at professional work loads and is less for gaming.

Don't get me wrong, but there are cheaper options for roughly the same performance. Really you're just paying for the name.

Had it for several months now. This is a dream CPU for any video content creator. I use this CPU in my gaming/video editing PC and could not be happier with my purchase. I overclocked it to 4.4GHz at 1.27V and which made rendering videos even faster. Previously I had 5820K for 2 months and still was able to fell a huge difference if performance when I switched to 5960X. If you plan to buy this for Gaming only then your money will be better spent on 5930K and you'll have plenty left over to spen on other hardware or games. No games today gain any FPS if you compare 6 core 5930K to 8 core 5960X. You can go and search for benchmarks to check it and thank me later.

Very Powerful and has very good overclocking potential but simply not required for any Gamer get the 5930k instead as it has 6 cores and the same 40 PCI lanes as this one. Though this one will overclock better I had a 5930k and returned it, it would only go to 4ghz this one will go to 4.6 if you have a good water cooled setup, mines working at 4.3GHZ nicely on all 8 cores. Get this chip only if you do rendering or do a lot of media creation only it will do nothing for you except take a additional £400 out of your wallet quite literally. Had mine now for a year and its a monster but it a monster price for a CPU!

Well its the best cpu outthere right now. get a good liquid cooling on top of that and u will be amazed like i was :) .. its not a gaming cpu but realy does the job i even got some extra fps on mmo mass pvp gaming situations. not to mention that u can even encode movies play games the system does slow down at all :) Excelent :)

Its a pretty expensive chip, but for me its worth it because I run music software which requires many threads of processing. I've clocked mine at 4.7GHz, and with 8 cores it blows my previous 6 core chip away, especially with the new X99 motherboard and the latest memory and SSD.

Well, it's clocking at 4.4Ghz and purring like a kitten. This is an expensive processor but if you're into gaming then I understand the 5930K is as good and about 5/8 the price. On the 5960x the media conversions I've done have taken 1/2 the time as the i7 3840QM (which is blinding quick too). If you want a good processor and can afford it, then this should be a front line contender.

Bought this for some light gaming and video editing. Gaming - Doesn't really have any extra performance Video Editing - One word.... Woah. Handled everything I throw at it. Using Adobe Premier Pro with Red Giant plugin's Depending how many effects/ frame size, I can pretty much get real time exporting (Cooled with Corsair H110i GT, idle 24°, load 39°)

El procesador mas potente que he probado en mi vida. Las posibilidades de overclock son impresionantes. Tengo la sensación, viendo los futuros micros de intel, de que voy a tener PC para muchos años. Lo malo, su precio. En mi caso lo adquirí en amazon-reacondicionado y no he tenido esa pega. ;D

Ho comprato questo processore per rendering di video e foto, lo uso principalmente con programmi di montaggio ed effettistica video e devo dire che non sono ancora riuscito a metterlo in crisi, nonostante l'impiego di effetti massicci. L'overclock è molto flessibile, il mio campione viaggia stabilissimo a 4.06 GHz ed è raffreddato da un Corsair H105, sotto stress test non supera gli 80°C in un'ora di rendering in un case Noctis 450 della Nzxt. La differenza con i modelli a 6 core X99 è marcata su programmi che utilizzano liberamente il maggior numero di core possibili, dato il prezzo è invece sconsigliato per il gaming, consiglio un quad core i5 o al massimo i7 consumer in quanto la differenza nei giochi è nulla. Solido e affidabile, l'unica pecca è il prezzo (come tutti i prodotti di fascia estrema), l'unico limite la vostra fantasia.

Le processeur Intel i7 5960x n'a pas une réputation usurpée... il est vraiment très bon dans tout ce qui concerne le multitâche. Il permet par exemple de travailler sans aucun problème avec un logiciel de traitement d'images sur des jpg volumineux, tout en décompressant plusieurs fichiers lourds en parallèle. Pour l'instant je ne l'ai jamais senti en difficulté dans l'usage que je peux avoir de mon PC, et l'usage des 8 coeurs est un plus indéniable. Dans ma configuration, il succède à un 5930K, qui était également très bon (6 coeurs). La génération des Haswell-E transpire le sérieux de conception et permet de soutenir l'usager dans des tâches complexes, qui prenaient auparavant 5 ou 6 fois plus longtemps à réaliser. Du côté des points négatifs, j'ai relevé que le 5960x pouvait chauffer un peu plus par moment sur ma configuration que le 5930K. Cela reste des "pics" de température isolés, que je ne rencontrais pas forcément avec le 5930K, et qui peuvent peut être améliorés en refaisant le jointure à la pâte thermique entre le processeur et le ventilateur. Je précise qu'il n'y a pas de quoi s'alarmer, on reste dans des seuils de température très raisonnables. Le processeur est cadencé à 3 GHz, contre 3,5 Ghz pour le 5930K, mais le nombre de coeurs plus important lui donne plus d'aisance dans les applications. Je ne l'ai jamais overclocké, donc je ne sais pas (encore!) ce qu'il peut donner lorsqu'on l'utilise à plein potentiel. Il est monté sur une Asus Rampage V Extreme U3.1, et la reconnaissance du processeur par la carte mère a été immédiate. Un achat que je recommande, mais qui reste onéreux... vivement une démocratisation de ce processeur ! En attendant, Intel a annoncé la sortie de sa gamme Skylake, qui a l'air intéressante en terme de prix, mais qui le sera peut être moins en terme de performances et de fonctionnalités.

J'ai acheté ce processeur avec la carte mère Asus X99-Deluxe. J'ai installé sans problème le processeur sur la carte et j'ai utilisé la machine pendant environ 1 mois sans problème jusqu’à ce qu'un jour tout s’arrête et impossible de redémarrer. J'ai contacté Amazon qui m'a proposer un retour des 2 matériels Carte mère + processeur. J'ai reçu l'étiquette de retour valable pour les 2 produits. J'ai retourné les matériels qui ont été réceptionnés par Amazon le 29 janvier. La carte mère (369 €) a été remboursée de suite mais le processeur (1 089 €) a semble t-il disparu ! J'ai relancé plusieurs fois le service client qui me répond qu'il font des recherche en interne. Le dernier email date du 10 février. Il devait me donner des nouvelles dans le 5 jours qui suivent et aujourd'hui le 20 février toujours rien ! Je comprend tout a fait qu'un composant puisse tomber en panne donc le problème n'est pas là. Jusqu’à maintenant j'avais plutôt confiance dans les services fournis par Amazon. Ce type de désagrément va m’amener à revoir ma position sur le sérieux de l'entreprise. J’espère cependant que le problème va finalement se régler très rapidement dans le cas contraire je vais voir les suites juridiques qui peuvent être engagées pour cette affaire.

Boh raga il migliore processore non server (xeon) in assoluto. Nulla da dire è perfetto. Inotre con il corsair 110i gt ( un radiatore da 280mm) a clock base sta sui 45 gradi massimo 50. Quindi massimo spazio di overclock.
