Great but the clicking is annoying
From the title you might think tue clicking is from being a bad drive but it's not a bad drive clicking noise. This noise is from the movement of the header insider the drive which is normal for these more enterprise drives which this one is. This is the second one I've bought so far for my nas and there holding up quite nicely. The click is original freak me out thinking the drive was damaged but a health scan and a little reddit help and its all good. It's a great drive and I plan on getting more in the future

Excellent
These drives arrived a lot quicker than I was expecting which was a welcome change from most retailers, so thanks for that. They have a good reputation but you don't know until your had them for a while, which I haven't. As far as the sound from the two drives, it's not that bad but I do have a dehumidifier in the room as well which is far loader, but you should expect some noise as that's how they work, spinning drives will do that. I have installed them in the new TerraMaster F4-242, which I'm still trying to get my head around but it will take some time, for me to get the benefit of them. Thank You for the excellent delivery and the first-class product.

New Drive Has 14500 power on hours and bad sectors
I bought two of these drives for my NAS. One of them is apparently fine, but despite being sold as new the other has over 14500 hours of power on time, so it has been used for over a year and a half. On closer inspection the label on the drive says it was manufactured in November 2023, which, since I bought it in April 2024, is impossible with that amount of power on time. Also, on the label, the word "Thailand" is spelt "Thiland". Very dodgy--returned for a refund. I've used Seagate Ironwolf drives for years, so this is very disappointing.

Reliable NAS HDD
I have 4 of these drives is a Synology DS918+ NAS, they have proved to be reliable. The long warrantee is a bonus and inspires confidence. They are a bit noisy during heavy workloads but I don't find it a problem.

Fast drive with good software but very loud
Bought two to replace Western Digital Reds that had reached six years old. The extra space is good and the Seagate drive checking software is impressive and very welcome. Think carefully about buying if the NAS is somewhere you can hear it, as there are pretty loud drives; plenty of whirring and clicking as the heads move about. If silence is essential, go Western Digital Red.

Performs as expected but VERY NOISY.
I installed 2 of these drives in a Synolgy NAS enclosure. They were easy to install and were configured as a RAID 1 pair. They perform as expected except they are VERY NOISY. I had expected to set up my NAS unit in the house but the clicking sound of these drives has forced me to move them into the garage. I have previously purchased at least 8 Seagate BarraCuda Pro 10Tb drives and they have all been quiet and effective but the IronWolf Pro units are a different beast. Perhaps it’s the engineering for 24x7 running that has changed things. A good drive but be aware of the noise. I did consider returning them but I’ve spent so much time transferring data that I’ll probably stick with them and build a sound reducing box for them to make them tolerable.

Came in an odd box, hope it doesnt fail in the months to come
I have bought a mountain of drives in my life, the delivery on this was really good it came a day before it was suposed to, however the cardboard box although designed well has no styrafoam or soft padding, im sure a drop of the box or a hard bump would easily damage the drive, othersie the ox was in good shape, its jsut the drive it doenst have all the paperwork you normally get with some drives, the build is good and it looks like a genuine drive, at the price I got it for on the spring sale I was concerned it was a knock off, the drive is very quite in my nas untill you put strain on it then it souns like most drives, if not a little bit moer quite, speed good as it says on the box

I am giving for stars mostly for the support I got from Amazon customer service regarding my order. I bought two 12TB drives on the 23rd nov during the sale period. I got them on the 15th Dec. I was traveling during that time, but when I got home, I installed them right away in my brand new NAS. Unfortunately only one worked without a problem. The other one was spinning but was not loading and reading nothing. I tried to put in intro a PC and also a 3.5 sata adapter and connected to a laptop. The same problem-it wasn't readable. Luckly amazon customer service undarstood the problem and gave me a refund. I bought a WD drives this time.

So far so good. I sees a few complaints but mine have been working non stop since my purchase. Also the noise level is close to none. I spend most of my time in the same room as the product these are installed in and I don’t hear a peep. The storage capacity is more than I will need for a while. The price was very competitive for the market when I purchased. Will be sure to purchase more once these are filled up since the quality of these is so good.

Like all hdd’s, advertised & usable space aren’t the same. So you’ll get 20tb of actual space

I bought 4 of these, 3 were working and 1 spoilt.. i almost returned it but found out i could send to Seagate for RMA to get a replacement.. so i did that as i bought it at a super price.. returning it would mean i'd have to buy another at a much higher price. Overall still happy since i can get a new one from Seagate as they have international warranty. Update 18May'25: i sent in the 12TB to Seagate for RMA, and they sent me a replacement 18TB.. how awesome is that.. :-)
