A Beginner's Guide to Knitting on a Loom (New Edition): How to knit over 35 fun beginner projects on a loom

Very very informative and useful.

Loom knitting is a great halfway skill for those learning to knot, or for those without the dexterity or hand strength to hold two kneedles for long times. The finished effect is a knitted fabric and can be done as a flat piece, though is usually done "in the round" The book shows how to make so much more than just hats or arm warmers, and how to embellish them with patterns and textures too. The instructions are good and clear with lots of helpful photos. My neices had a couple of hours with me to learn the basic skill, and then went off with the book - I havent had a single confused text or phone call since, despite them loving this and using it a lot. They are 7 and 12, with unskilled parents, so a great result.... Wonder if I will get it back, or give in and let them keep it!! :)

Good ideas

this book is brilliant. easy to read and understand with some great ideas and full colour all the way through, with digrams. it breaks it down giving explaination and what the best type of yarn would be to make the projects in the book. nice size book so not to big it want fit on shelf. great for round and long board knitting. i cant wait to start making items from this book. its like christmas has come early, was so exciting when it arrived in the post this morning.

Although I like this book and am looking forward to making some of the items in it once I have learnt how to use a knitting loom, I have found that although the patterns use terms like Knit & Purl there are no instructions on how to do these stitches, because of this I would not recommend it to beginners. I also think that it is misleading to suggest that folk should try out the various types of looms, not all of us are made of money so we have to take pot luck in choosing them. Having said all of this, the book itself is nice and has lots of pictures and the price is reasonable. I would recommend this book to anyone who has used a loom before.

A great book. Gives all the information needed to get started, also gives different stitches to use.

Bit disappointed with the variety of items. Saying that, very clear step by step instructions. Ideal for new users to loom knitting.

Un livre en anglais, certes, mais les schémas sont très bien et les livres en français sur le tricotin ne courent pas les rues, donc on ne boude pas son plaisir.

I bought both LOOM KNITTING PRIMER and KNITTING ON A LOOM at the same time from Amazon. Be aware although each of these books has a different cover THEY ARE IDENTICAL ON THE INSIDE page for page (except one was published in 2007 and the other in 2008). Isela is an excellent teacher and is very clear and concise. So buy one OR the other and enjoy. (??? Maybe a mix up at the printer - something missed somewhere.)
