Will this work with a new mac pro so that i don't need to plug anything in? i.e. use the bluetooth without needing a usb dongle?

The only thing you need to do is download the App onto your laptop. It's unbelievably good. Don't hesitate to buy if you do a lot of presenting. Another bonus is that it works with large screen TV's which now seem more common than data projector in the corporate training rooms. So Bluetooth and App is all you need, no USB dongles.

Does the cursor function behave just like a mouse cursor, i.e. I can use it to resize windows, drag and drop etc? Does it have full cursor control fea

No. You can point at a button/play/pause/etc in a presentation and get the equivalent of a mouse click, but there is no drag or double click function.

Does it come with a case?

Yes - but it's just a tight-fitting faux-leather pouch with an open top, so only protects from scratches rather than from hard knocks or being squashed in a bag. It's OK - perhaps the most annoying thing though is that the remote & USB dongle fit in the pouch, but the short USB charging cable does not - so it has to be stored separately. If the case was just a tiny bit bigger, it would fit in beside it.

Can you use it with ipad?

I would think not. There is no App that I’m aware of. You need to download some software onto the machine you intend to use it on. It’s pretty good especially if your presentation is to be viewed on a wide screen TV.
