Is it weatherproof for outdoor use?

extract from the manual.: Selecting a location for your MultiSensor.MultiSensor can bring its intelligent readings to many locations of your home which includes outside of your home. Please note that when installed outdoors of your home, your MultiSensor should only be relied on for temperature, light, humidity, and ultraviolet readings, where as the motion sensing capabilities should be disabled on your gateway in order to avoid false readings.Despite the above you need to take into account that it's protection is only rated at IP20 i.e. protection from solid objects approximately 12mm in size however, it also denotes no protection at all against liquids which contradicts the above so I wouldn't use it outside.

Are batteries included?

It's in the technical details. No. Batteries are not included. It comes with a USB cable (no power supply) and can be optionally powered by batteries. It uses 2x CR123A batteries. If you go for batteries instead of power supply be aware that the repeater function will be turned off (like with most battery powered z-wave devices)Also, battery life depends on how you configure the sensor and can be drained very quickly if you're not careful.

How far can the sensor detect motion? (compared to Samsung's)

Hi I use both and have found the smartthings is faster and has a bit better range.The multisensor has a bit if a delay compared to the smartthings motion sensor, it works bètter powèred by the usb cable then it does on battery power. Also the battery life is a lot shorter then stated. If your just after a motion sensor get the Samsung. If you need it outside or need extra sensors get the Aeon labs.Hope this helps.

Is there a light that flashes when movement is detected? If so, can you disable that?

No, but a green led flashes to say it's connected. White tape over it?
