what's it actually made from... the materials that is?

The interior is made from memory foam. The exterior is a soft polyester-type fabric. The underside of the seat cushion is a textured, thin rubber-like material that grips the car seat well and keeps the cushion from slipping. I am quite pleased with this product, as it's comfortable to use and has helped reduce my lower back pain while driving.

It is, in fact, made in China. It is NOTmade in the USA.

Will it help builging discs

Yes I have had three back fusions with bulging disc and my daughter has 3 of them now with no surgeries and this is amazing there is no pressure on your tailbone at all ... we use it to drive and highly recommend
