Great and great price
This is a fab little bread maker. It's compact and sits neatly on the worktop without taking up loads if space. I found it simple to use. Other reviews mention its noisy, yes there is some sound in the kneading stage but I would expect this given what it's doing. The noise is really just a bit of a whirring sound of the paddle turning and lasts for about 30mins. We didn't find it that intrusive to be honest. The machine can do 3 different size loaves. I have never used a bread maker before, I found this machine easy to use, I only made a 500g (the smallest size) for the first attempt but as there is only 2 of us this is a perfect size. I did the basic white loaf and followed the recipe in the booklet to the letter. I put it on the medium crust setting for first go that way we could decide it needed to go up or down one. The result was fantastic. The flat smelt of warm bread, and in 3hrs I had a loaf that came out looking like bread, smelling like bread and it tasted fantastic, it turned out looking and feeling like a shop bought fresh loaf. I haven't used the delay timer function yet but its pretty straight forward to use. I am really pleased with this machine and the result and can't wait to try the other recipes. I recommend this little machine, you won't be disappointed

I bought a good quality loaf but I did not enjoy it and ...
I usually make my own bread but during the hot weather, decided to take a break; I bought a good quality loaf but I did not enjoy it and decided a bread maker might be the solution. Having spent some time looking at various models, I went for this one firstly because it would fit on my work top as I did not want a machine that I had to lift in and out of a cupboard and secondly, because I have a Russell Hobbs Slow Cooker which has been used on a regular basis for some three years and is still going strong, being in use several times a week. This bread maker had a number of mainly positive reviews, from beginners and more experienced users; there are a wide range of programmes to choose from and loaves can be made in small, medium sizes. Yes, you are aware of it working at times, but for the most part, it is really quiet and once all the ingredients are weighed out, your time is your own; it would also appear to be cheap to run. So far I have made a basic white loaf and a fruit loaf and both have turned out well and tasted delicious; there is no comparison to shop bought bread, this is so superior. Compared to a hand baked loaf, yes there is a difference in appearance but not in taste.I can see that this going to be a very useful piece of kitchen equipment, as today I was going to be out but I simply measured out the ingredients and came back to fresh bread ready for lunch. The accompanying recipe book is perfectly adequate to start off with. However, do get some measuring spoons as you will need 1/4, 1/2, 1 tsp and 1/2 tbls and 1 tablsp measurements. Could I also recommend Doves Yeast which I have used over a number of years and it has always given outstanding results; their bread making flours are also excellent and look out for Marriages Flours too, they are excellent also. Hope this helps and happy bread making.

Finally managed a decent wholemeal loaf!
I'm sort of pleased with this. Bigger than I was expecting but still goes under the cupboard as intended. Haven't yet managed an ideal loaf. This is when I say I like wholemeal bread. Tried the recipe as given, for a 50/50 wholemeal and white bread flour loaf. Was okay, decent flavour but soft. Very soft. Found I could only cut thick slices. Tried again, using a recipe from a book. Rose beautifully then dipped so badly in the middle that the birds were thrilled with the unexpected treat. Next loaf was better but still a little soft. Trying again only this time I'm missing out the milk powder. Next I'll try cutting down on the water. The perfect loaf is out there! Finally done it (August 24th 2022) - see photo! Lots of tweaking. The basic recipe, given with the breadmaker, needs about 250gms of both wholemeal and white strong flours, also reduce the water to about 270 mls. But my favourite loaf (and the one in the photo) is as follows - 300 mls lukewarm water 25 gms butter, cubed, room temperature 350 gms strong wholemeal flour 150 gms strong white flour I tsp dough improver 1 tbsp ground flaxseed mix (Aldi) 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp soft brown sugar (either light or dark) 1 and 1/2 tsp fast action dried yeast If you don't want to add the ground seeds then cut down on the water. I used dough improver because I used Allinsons flour and its 11% protein, usually I use Marriages strong or very strong flour, much higher protein content)

Effective and Efficient Home bread making
This bread machine is dead easy to use, even for myself who usually has difficulty boiling an egg. Lots of recipes are supplied, and baking bread consists simply of picking one, throwing the ingredients in order and one at a time into the baking pan, switching on, waiting for about 3.25 hours and voilà: new loaf is ready to eat. It is stupidly simple to use with practically no interaction worth mentioning: you simply throw in the ingredients and leave it to its work. Two small words of warning: when first unpacking, I thought they'd forgotten to include the 'paddle' (the small 'blade' that mixes and kneads the ingredients). Turned out to have been attached to the power cable, next to the plug, inside swathes of plastic, so it wasn't obvious and it wasn't where all the other 'components' of the device were inside the box. Second: the supplied manual makes no mention of the fact that on Program 3 (the wholemeal/granary bread section), the thing just sits there for about half an hour without doing anything at all. Some barely-audible clicks suggest that its actually turning the heating element on and off periodically, presumably to bring something up to temperature before mixing begins... but it's not explained anywhere and the first time I tried a wholemeal bake I thought I'd broken it or done something wrong. The only other semi-serious complaint I have is that the recipe/manual booklet is merely paper and on the thin-and-flimsy end of things. Since it's got all the recipes in it, you're going to be using it a lot and keeping it near the machine... so it's going to get grubby and creased and a bit tatty quite quickly. It would have been nice to have included at least the recipe section as a set of laminated cards or something similar: something with a bit more usability and robustness. Otherwise, it's easy to clean and though the paddle does tend to create a quite large hole in the bottom of every loaf made, it's not a show-stopper. The machine does get fiercely hot during the final stages of baking, so care is needed when removing the finished loaf from it, but it cools quickly and a quick wipe with a damp cloth restores it to cleanliness, so that's not a deal-breaker either. I actually bought it because an 80+ lady up the road who we do the gardening for said it was the best thing she'd ever bought in over 20 years. Her enthusiasm made me willing to give it a go, too. The special deal on the price made it easy to give it a go. I got mine for around £59, and that seems a very reasonable price. I think its functionality and utility make it worth a bit more than that -but I'd have resented having to pay much more, and would probably have hesitated to spring for it. Nevertheless, as a reasonably-cheap impulse buy, it's fulfilled all the expectations I had of it at decent value-for-money.

Fantastic and compact - great gluten free bread!
After a diagnosis of coeliac disease in the family we took the plunge and bought this machine to bake our own gluten free bread. This machine has a gluten free setting and it works brilliantly. I can't comment on the timer because I've not used it but the machine is simple and even I manage to produce fantastic bread - following the recipe in the booklet produced a slightly crumbly loaf (using Doves Farm GF Brown Bread flour) so I added 7g of xanthan gum and 10ml of water and bingo! Perfection. (You may have to experiment a little to find what works best for you but the recipe booklet is a good starting point.) It is as simple as adding liquid ingredients, followed by dry ingredients with yeast last of all (if using the timer you must keep the yeast dry so it doesn't activate before the machine starts working), selecting your loaf and menu setting (pressing a button until your option appears on the easy to read screen) then....let the machine get on with it. I don't have room to leave this machine out on my work surface - it is compact enough to put on top of the kitchen cupboard and is light enough that I don't have any trouble lifting it up. I was skeptical about buying this - like many people I have bought brilliant sounding kitchen gadgets only to find they don't actually work as well as I had hoped or they don't fit into our lifestyle and they just end up cluttering the place up before being donated to charity BUT.....this beauty gets used roughly every 5-6 days without fail and does a brilliant job. We've had this for almost 6 months and are still impressed with the results! I highly recommend this machine.

Game Changer!
I am delighted with this breadmaker! I bought this because I am gluten intolerant and sick of paying €4 or more for a loaf of bread full of rubbish that isn't even particularly nice, but I've struggled making my own GF bread in the past - it's really tricky! My initial thoughts on it were that it IS a big appliance, but it's compact and light enough to tuck away when not in use. Assembly and set up was extremely simple. The maiden voyage was last night, and the results are below. I used Dove's gluten free bread mix and their recipe on the back on the packet, not the one supplied in the booklet with the breadmaker. It came out beautifully - look at that texture! It's soft, it's actually doughy, it's fresh and has no crap ingredients. You wouldn't think this was gluten free bread. And all I had to do was measure some flour and separate some eggs, chuck it all in and push the button. I do wish there was a bit more variety with the settings - you can't select crust settings or use the timer on the gluten free mode, just the first few. It is also a bit loud, but it wouldn't keep you up at night. All in all, I'm delighted with this purchase.

Paddle in bread - breadmaker moves around quite easily, risk of falling off countertop
Pros Easy to work, bread that's made is delicious - recipe is very accurate and reliably makes good bread. Had this for about a year and it's still going strong, even with a broken lid (see next bit). Cons The cons I'd say are enough to make me want to get a better maker: - There's no programming to remove the paddle from the tin when it gets to the baking stage. This means that you're left with a paddle-sized hole in the bread each time. At times pulling the bread out took the paddle with it... If you want to remove the paddle, you need to guesstimate when the baking phase has begun so you can manually remove it. And attempting to remove it is really tedious. - The breadmaker has suction cups on the base, however it doesn't stop it from moving around quite considerably if you do not have anything to stop it. One time I used this, it moved around so much that it fell off the counter and broke the hinges on the lid. Lid can be placed back on fine, but now I have to prop something against it every time if I want to make bread...

Perfect Kitchen Companion
The bread machine is my third machine.Glen lasted 8 years and Sharp just 3 years. One can make a variety of breads in this compact machine. It is an upgrade on earlier machines because of the perfect loaf. The options for bread size were not there earlier and now I can make a 300 gm mini loaf which is finished off in two days. I tried the gluten free option and the bread has turned out delicious.See picture above It is a bit noisy but takes up less space on the counter. The recipe book is not much use so I used another book on baking brilliant bread in the bread machine by Catherine Atkinson. The results are 100 percent. Thank you Amazon for bringing me this quality product at a reasonable price.

Great product, good value !
I have owned this before for about 7 years and the bread never disappoints ( I bought a new one because the old one had some scratches in it ..) I only use the 10/11 program now because you can literally have a fresh bread in 55 min! I definitely recommend this bread machine .

Do not buy!
I read a lot of reviews on different websites before buying, and generally they were positive reviews. However, when actually using the bread machine, I found that the material was very cheap, both for the outside of the machine and the pan itself. Browning was very weak, even at the highest setting. There is no bake-only option, which was a huge negative! For example, the cake option did not fully cook the cake and because there was no cook only option, it was not possible to cook the cake for longer. I had to return it!
