Review: A great read - Full of humour, warmth and interesting facts, it is a story of a life in cricket told with humility and compassion for the game and its people Review: Reads as though Blowers is speaking - This is just perfect - it reads as if Blowers is speaking the text out loud. It's a wonderful testament to one of the great cricket voices. Along with Brian Johnston, CMJ, John Arlott and Jonathan Agnew he made cricket on the radio well worth listening to. In fact, many times I've had TV on with the sound muted and TMS on. Definitely highly recommended.

Good old Blowers !
As a listening to TMS for many years now I bought this to hear Blowers stories of his time on the show and I wasn't disappointed. An entertaining read from start to finish, without trying to hard I read it all in less than a week as once I picked it up it was hard to put down. Lots of interesting stories of times past, which show more than anything how times have changed too. Some people find Blowers a marmite character (love him/hate him). If you love his old school style then you will enjoy this book. I for one will miss him from the TMS commentary box, especially with the monotonous tones of recent additions in the box. I struggle to keep listening now, unless Aggers, Tuffers, Vic Marks or Boycott are talking. Times change, not always for the better.

Excellent read and very funny.
This was a Christmas present for my Brother In Law and he found it an excellent read and very funny. I have a birthday coming up and have put that on my wish list. Well done Henry, can't wait to read it myself.

Such a shame.
I am a big fan of Blowers, the book is a good read but i struggle to award top marks for one simple reason. This is because if like me you have books written by Aggers--Peter Baxter--Johners about TMS over the years you will have read many of the anecdotes before. This is a shame and it is unfortunate but it does deflect the reading. There are of course some new revelations which i have not read before but these are outweighed by those i had.I received this book along with Jonny Bairstows first book. This was outstanding but sadly Blowers yours is not.Such a shame.

Very entertaining!
Hardback editions always good for keeping. Marvellous account of years of cricket commentaries, players and matches. Luckily, took my copy to Stamford, where Henry Blofeld signed it at Waterstones, and then saw him at The Key Theatre, Peterborough. Book almost as fascinating as the writer.

Good read
Henry was a good to listen on the radio for me, so thought it would be an interesting read, I was not disappointed, good value for money and arrived before due date.
