Roadie Tuner is the ultimate guitarist's tool “Roadie is sleek, easy to use and, most importantly, extremely accurate.” — Guitar World Magazine “During my time with Roadie, my handheld and pedal tuners haven't seen the light of day and the manual peg turner has lost its place in my gig bag permanently.” — Gizmag “The Roadie is nicely built, highly accurate, and easy to use. I’ve been using standard audio-based tuners for years and this is the first time that my guitar has sounded well and truly in tune.” — Techcrunch About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words.Quick. Accurate. Magical. How did you come up with the idea for this product? It all started back in college when we met in a band playing music. During band practice, Bassam had to change tuning often between songs, which was not an easy task to do on a 12 string instrument. So we thought, “How come a product that eases the hassle of tuning doesn’t already exist?” Eventually what started off as a challenging project to solve a personal need ended up to be a great journey to develop a professional guitarist’s tool. After years of research and development, Roadie came to life. What makes your product special?Roadie completely automates the tuning process, reducing the human error and making tuning a quick, accurate and fun experience. Roadie is versatile: you only need one Roadie to tune all your guitars, ukulele, mandolin, banjo etc. Roadie is an all-in-one tool: tuner, string winder, and string doctor. This is what makes Roadie a one-of-a-kind product in the market. What has been the best part of your startup experience? The journey of bringing Roadie from prototype to product has been a thrilling ride for us and so far the best part of our startup. The Kickstarter crowdfunding experience was incredible, tripling our funding goal with more than 2000 backers. Following this, the excitement of launching a product for the first time to excited and welcoming customers. We were delighted to see a community of backers supporting us early on and believing in Roadie. Then we had to manufacture our first production, so we moved right next to our factory and made sure to build a great team and good relations with our suppliers as we knew they are the foundation for building an awesome product. Finally, after shipping and delivering Roadie to over 55 countries worldwide, it was priceless to see our backers respond positively and passionately about their Roadie experience. Box Contains 1 Roadie Tuner1 USB Cable1 Electric Guitar Adapter Review: Essential Guitar Tool - I got my Roadie Tuner last week and it's great. What a brilliant idea and really neat design. I love gadgets so I was instantly attracted the Roadie Tuner but, it's more than just a gadget, it is genuinely useful and works very well. The app is very easy to use and also works really well. I have a number of guitars and it's really helpful to be able to keep track of them individually in the app. Knowing when they were last restrung and having the ability to define custom tunings for them is so helpful. Having all this information in my pocket is just mind-blowing. Well done Band Industries. Review: Very good - but only for six stringed guitars - This is an amazing little gadget which seems to work by magic. I have a number of guitars, acoustic and electric, and this has made it really easy to tune all but one of them. As long as there are only six strings to tune, the RD100 works very well indeed - but ask it to help with a 12 string and it is very unhappy. My 12 string dreadnaught is now a 10 string so I won't be making that mistake again.

Buy a decent chromatic tuner instead !
I was really excited by this product (and the reviews that I had read) but I found the reality to be something entirely different. HAving paired the tuner with my brand new high spec HtC mobile phone, I spent two hours yesterday in a completely quiet room trying to calibrate the bottom E string without any success whatsoever. The online guidance for the Roadie Tuner said to adjust the sensitivity and work in a quiet room but the only place quieter would be the grave (it is Halloween today after all). I tried to contact the manufacturer by email but their 'normally' within one working day response din't materialise and after trying for another 2 hours on a different string today, I gave up and clicked on Amazon's excellent returns service. When trying to calibrate the E string, the Roadie tuner first tightened the string up by six semitones (according to my chromatic tuner) and I had to stop it before the string snapped and then it loosed the string until it was flopping around and making no discernible sound. Sadly my advice would have to be to save yourself some / a lot of money and get a good chromatic tuner for about a fifth of the price instead - how hard is to to retune a guitar to an alternative tuning anyway?

Roadie rd100 tuner/string winder
Brilliant product, once app was loaded and set up, this peice of kit worked a treat. So easy to use and so fast to use. One suggestion i would make, is that they could include the mandolin adapter with the Roadie rd100, rather than customers having to request it seperately, also adapter doesn't fit my ukelele tuners. A minor niggle though and i highly recommend the Roadie, you won't be sorry.

Wrong language leaflet
Very disappointed that the instructions for this were only in German..this was not cheap and although my husband can probably find the information online it was frustrating.

Probably the best guitar tuner ever
Excellent product and tuned my guitar in 10 minutes, was far easier than clip on tuners and more accurately, would recommend to anyone who wants to tune their guitar

Surprisingly accurate, using more alternate tunings when I jam now
I've been using the Roadie Tuner for a couple of weeks now and I love it. I was actually using their manual tuning app before getting the robotic hardware. Setup was pretty easy; there's a calibration step where it turns the pegs up and down... guess that's how it "learns" about your guitar. Then it goes straight into tuning, which was surprisingly fast. I plucked the string and Roadie made a half turn of the peg, and then beeped right away telling me the string was in tune. I would've expected it to be twitchy as it hunted for the tuning, but it wasn't at all - overall solid, so I guess whatever fancy algorithms they use must be good. Between my housemates and I, we have 4 steel stringed acoustics, 1 nylon classical and 1 electric. I wasn't sure if the Roadie tuning head would have a problem with the different pegs but it actually fit well on all of them (just make sure the machines are properly lubricated, which they should be anyways :P). Even though I can tune by ear just fine, I found I still use it quite often. I can change tunings between songs quickly (you can save them in the app) so I find myself playing songs that have non-standard tunings more often (Ben Howard, Hendrix, Goo Goo Dolls..). I also find myself experimenting more with alternate tunings. It's also been easier to play along with backing tracks for the same reason. I can't tell how long the battery life is yet... I haven't had to charge it once since it came from the factory so we'll see. Overall, I'm really happy with this product and it's a new addition to my gig bag. I hope this review was helpful.

A Goodie To Keep Your Guitars and You Happy!
How many tuners and gadgets find their way into our gig bags, never to be heard from again? Well I have to say, this isn't one of them! This is definitely one that will be used daily. Initially, I was a bit skeptical. What with having to use an IOS device to tune with this tuner. I've downloaded a bunch of tuner apps, but once I started to use the tuner, I knew I was hooked. Upon unpacking the Roadie Tuner, I noticed that the tuner itself was very lightweight. It seemed almost flimsy at first blush. More about that later. Included with the tuner is a small cable to connect the tuner to a USB port, and another cable to connect the guitar itself to my iPhone (standard 6.35mm to ¼ inch guitar lead jack). In the user's manual, there's a QR code for the IOS or Android app. You can also look it up manually, if so inclined. The tuner itself connects to the app via Bluetooth, so make sure it's enabled on your phone. After entering the basic parameters for the guitar (i.e. 6 string, 7 string, etc.) you can name the guitar profile. Now, the magic begins. To start using the tuner, you need to calibrate the tuner with the guitar. When I saw the word "calibrate," I began to get a bit nervous. Calibration can sometimes be complicated and tedious. Not with the Roadie Tuner. You just tap calibrate on the app, put the tuner on the peg, pluck it again and again, and the Roadie tuner emits a tone when it's finished. That's all there is to it. No fuss at all. Initially, I used the iPhone 6's mic, and it seemed to take forever to calibrate. At that point I switched to the guitar adapter, and with just 3 or 4 plucks of the string, and it's done. Calibration and tuning the guitar took a total of approximately 3-4 minutes from low E to high E. Since my Fender Strat is my "go to" axe, it really wasn't badly out of tune. I then tried out the Roadie Tuner on my Hot Rodded Traveler Guitar. To me this was going to make or break this tuner. Why? Well, first because I haven't used it since the early fall, and has sat in its case in a winter's worth of temperature and humidity changes, and also because the tuning pegs for this guitar are situated in the body, in a very tight space. Again, it only took less than 5 minutes to tune a badly out-of-tune guitar, and it fit well into a limited space! It was so easy, it's unbelievable! I'm looking forward to trying it on my Ric 360/12 with the tuning pegs at right angles to each other. Heck, I may just de-tune that guitar so I can have the fun of tuning it!...LOL. Regarding the fact that it is so lightweight: At first it was difficult to determine how firmly to grip the Roadie Tuner as it calibrated and tuned my guitar. After the first automated spin of the peg holder though, I was able to match my grip to the force of the rotation of the peg holder. I honestly thought if I held it too tightly, I would break it, but not the case. It does seem to be sturdy enough to do its intended job. While I haven't gone through all of the portions of the app, I've noticed that it can accomplish various tunings. Also, it can custom tune for times, when you just want to drop a string down a half step, and keep the rest of the strings in regular tuning. Heck, it even tells you when to change the strings! I know that the Roadie Tuner is more expensive than most tuners. I have a whole bunch of 10-12 dollar ones that I bought in the past, since each one was never quite accurate enough, Then I went for the well known and expensive strobe tuners. They're great and very accurate, but it entails me moving the tuning peg back and forth for what seemed like forever. Now, with the Roadie Tuner, I can get the accuracy I want, at a speed that doesn't make people think I'm playing the "Tuning Song." The Roadie Tuner is not cheap, but every time you use it, you'll appreciate the investment.

Rapido y de buena precisión
Necesitaba un sistema automático para un robot de caracterización de la capacidad de afinación de las cuerdas de guitarra comerciales. Cumple las epectativas si se compara con dos o tres afinadores de alta resolución.
