Seagate BarraCuda 4 TB 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive (64 MB Cache SATA 6 GB/s up to 180 MB/s)

I was a little cautious having read a couple of slightly negative reviews but I need not have been concerned. The drive was not initially seen by Windows 10 but after a little introduction it was fine. I carried out a surface check and the drive passed 100%. After partitioning into 2, 2TB drives I have loaded it up as a windows backup drive and a photo storage drive. All very smoothly done and no issues. Very pleased. I may now buy another 2TB drive to replace the ageing system drive. Good price for a good sized drive. All I need to do now is see how it lasts.

The drives themselves seem ok but they were very poorly packaged. Bought a load for me and friends and they were literally all chucked in a box with minimal bubble wrap. Will be keeping an eye on them me thinks. Other than that, no issues and great price. Hence only 4 stars.

It stores ALL of my games on Steam! Loading times are negligibly slower than an SSD, to the point where it's pretty much useless storing your games on an SSD which is more expensive per GB. Of course it's a hard drive and it has its limitations. If you intent to use this with tasks that require frequent read/writes of small data it can be very slow. I would recommend a hard drive for its cheap price per GB and large capacity. I recommend using it as a secondary drive, to accompany a faster medium that holds Windows and other small software. But... 3TB for this price is great and it's reliable.

06/10/25, Hard Drive failed after 7 months of use, and I requested a refund which I am told is under way.

I have not had this long, so can't state the longevity; but I have had similar from Seagate and they are still going strong after two years of constant use. I haven't made any technical measurements, but the write speed is very good on this unit as compared to my two year old drive. I'm getting around 135 mb per sec'. So I'm happy at that. I have had fast write, but it obviously depends on the file type you're copying. I would buy another.

Bought this to replace an identical one that had failed from a 2011 machine. The machines inbuilt recovery system re installed the operating system and original software, which left me to put on the software I wanted and the 200 odd updates required. The drive is quieter than the original one installed. I downloaded some free testing software and the drive passed every test. Good value for money.

I have several Seagate 1TB & 3TB HDD's already, but read on the internet that they can fail early, but luckily this has only happened to one 1TB after 22,000hours with a "Smart" warning (unlike other drives). The 3TB's run hot, so having read that the 4TB's are more reliable, I opted for these and they're great. Just as good as the 3TB's, but run a lot cooler, so should be even more reliable.

Ya lo he montado y probado. Tiene una velocidad de transferencia muy buena y apenas hace ruido. Una vez montado en la caja no se oye. Lo recomiendo.

中古品なので、動作確認が出来ているものを選びました。届いたら出品者のとおり良い状態でした。しかし、最初の１時間は正常に動いていましたが、その後は動かなくなりました。かなり古い品だから、こういうことはあり、店側の責任でもないので残念です。返品手続きが出来たのはありがたいです。

Have had pretty good results with seagate HDD's in the past This 1 is no different, came fast well packed and no problems/errors on it, Mine seemed to be brand new but some of the other review's seemed to think theirs were used(can't speak to that) Easy to install and seems to work.

Very bad item. It's made bad sector after 2 month only
