Top Notch Condenser Microphone
This is a superb condenser microphone at a great price. It's solidly built and looks quality. Sound recording quality is top notch and it's inspiring to use with voice or for recording instruments. The set up I use with this mic for recording to PC or my Tascam Portastudio is Behringer C-1 microphone to Behringer phantom power supply PS400 [48v], on to a Behringer mixer the Xenyx 302 USB then to PC or portastudio. That's great for recording direct in to Audacity or Garageband or whatever software you choose. Just make sure you balance your mixer settings carefully to the C-1 and you'll make good quality recordings. I think a lot of people use this microphone for podcasting. If you have a mixer that provides 48v phantom power then no need for the PS400. The C-1 comes in a good quality black plastic case that provides excellent protection if needed... that was a surprise on receipt and I liked that a lot. There is a low level red light on the front to indicate that phantom power is being received... the C-1 is uni-directional receiving sound directly in to its front. The C-1 is a class condenser and I think where reviewers talk about hiss it is almost certain that they are not setting their mixer up correctly. There are examples on YouTube showing you how to do this properly to get the best results from your C-1 or any microphone. A terrific versatile condenser microphone for your home studio.

Superb value microphone
This seems to have the reputation of being the Ford Fiesta of the 48 volt phantom-powered Condenser Microphone world - the "entry-level" model. I wasn't sure, but ordered one anyway - along with a Behringer MIC200 pre-amp and an XLR cable as part of a package deal that cost just over £80 once VAT sales tax was added. I was expecting something slightly flawed and mediocre - but not so. I'm so pleased that I bought this microphone. I was seriously astonished that I got so much quality for such a low price. It's actually quite large - far bigger than I'd expected from the photo's. Also the build quality seems very solid and it really is quite heavy. I'll have to get a stronger microphone-stand to take the weight. The sound quality is amazingly good. I've been using it for spoken-word recordings - and there's now a professional edge that wasn't there previously.... one that I thought I could only get by booking a recording studio. NOTE..... if you're going to use the above set-up to record on to the stereo input of a Mac or PC or minidisc walkman you'll need to get the correct Female XLR to stereo mini-jack cable as an extra. Apparently there's "balanced" and "unbalanced" cables - and I haven't got a clue which is the proper one. I got mine here .... http://www.micbooster.com/products/felleadsandadapt.html Hope that helps.

AFFORDABLE QUALITY
I was looking for a condenser mic to use when I am recording home demo's on my macbook. I use Garageband and had borrowed a friends Samson CO1, which is an excellent mic for the money ( they can be found on Amazon for around the £50 mark.) However, I have a friend who bought the Behringer C1 mic and swore by it, so after reading reviews and watching a few demo's on youtube, I thought at £34 there is absolutely nothing to loose. I am so glad I did. There isn't a lot in it. They are both a real bargain at the price, yet of the two I am more impressed with the Behringer ( £15 cheaper too ! - which paid for a decent XLR lead and a pop shield ) I have experimented with the mic and with a wee bit of patience, and tweaking my little Wharfdale mini desk, I am astounded at the results. Some reviewers have moaned about the " noise " .... forgive me, but I fail to understand what they must be doing - this mic is beautifully quiet, wonderfully responsive to the top, mid and bottom range and gives outstanding results ( and I'm a whisperer of a vocalist so I need a fair bit of depth ). I can not recommend this mic highly enough. Behringer are a superb company who make a brilliant range of products. This mic is excellently built. It is very sturdy, aesthetically pleasing ( lovely subtle gold colour ) has an indicator light, which lights up with phantom power and comes in a well made case complete with mic stand adapter. One of the best value buys I have made this year.

Behringer C-1 Good value, but questionable build quality
I bought this having spent some time reviewing and it seemed like very good value with lots of positive feedback. You will see scathing comments from the 'anti-Behringer league' but please, do bear in mind the cost of this item. I suspect most of the scathing reporters will have spent substantially more on their microphone of choice. My initial thoughts were of great disappointment as there was a terrible buzz / hum. This was regardless of what phantom supply was used and what lead. I looked long and hard on the old faithful internet and everything pointed to an earth loop problem suggesting that my hardware was earthing to different points which could cause the problem. I found a particularly good response on a forum relating to an earth loop hum on a different product, so using the guidance of that learned forum member, I ruled out each symptom one by one to conclude there was a fault with a microphone. I worked through these possible causes, using different phantom power sources, initially on my presonus firestudio mobile, then from my spirit folio RAC PAC mixer. Both resulted in the humm or buzz. I tried an alternative shure dynamic mic plugged into both, no humm or buzz even with the phantom power on so it wasn’t a 48v problem. I bought another XLR lead through AMAZON which arrived next day thanks to my prime membership, but still the C-1 hummed so it didn’t seem to be the lead. To alleviate the earth loop possibility, I disconnected my macbook pro from the mains charger and powered the presonus through firewrire only (no need for a wall-wart which is very handy ! ) – so the power was all from the battery. The C-1 still hummed but again the shure dynamic mic didn’t.. Now by co-incidence, it was at that point that I went to change over the XLR lead again and the buzzing stopped ! I realized that when I tightened the mic onto the mount, the lead was wiggled and the buzzing stopped. When I investigated further, the three pins at the bottom of the mic that the XLR lead were actually loose! Tightening or loosening the mount would make the buzz go away, but if the mic was moved slightly it would come back. So the solution that I found on the forum was correct, namely there was a manufacturing problem that resulted in a dodgy earth actually in the mic itself ! I’m not sure of this’ll work but here’s the link to that very useful information that I found.. [...] So I did have a short opportunity to try the mic after a bit of cable wiggling and it did sound pretty good for a £34 microphone. I can see why this is a firm favourite. I did find it a tiny wee bit noisy, that may have been something to do with my set-up though. So I sent it back but replacements aren’t in stock. I’ve waited for a few days for them to return to stock but I have now decided to get the rode NT1-A instead. My decision is based largely on the reliability. So if you get a good–un, I’m sure you’ll be pleased. If it buzzes, check it over, you may just have a faulty one, like I did. Some of the scathing reviews I have seen I must conclude can only be down to a faulty item, because when it works, for £34 it really is very good. I can only give 4 stars on the basis that my one had to go back due to the manufacturing fault.

Vocal quality is excellent as seen on a few youtube reviews etc
First foray to a more professional mic. Yes I realize it's not pro but I can't see why not. Vocal quality is excellent as seen on a few youtube reviews etc. Also used for acoustic guitar and again nice and crisp. Use it with a Steinberg UR22 audio interface and it just works flawlessly with the phantom 48v from the UR22. Just wish I could sing !! Update after a few years of use - (and having a vocal auto tune...) have 4 of these mics and took them out of the boxes for use in the recording room (not going to call it a studio but it's close) - 2x started buzzing and one very distorted. Investigation showed poor manufacturing quality of the buzzing mics (very bad / non existent grounding which was solved by stripping down and removing paint coating on all screw parts.) The distorted one I repaired by replacing the input J202 MOSFET (from ebay) and now have once again 4 working mics !! Usually use these for recording my local steel pan group in a large hall and have been perfect - just been using these again for recording but now into a Behringer UMC404HD and also into a Zoom R20 multi track and they are just perfect - Thought I was going to have to buy a few more but managed to repair the bad ones. So - for the price, I'd still recommend them.

Excellent for beginners (and for experienced Audio Engineers looking to experiment).
I've been experimenting with cheap mics for recording Rock Bands hoping to get some new weird sounds. I used this as a standalone Kick Drum microphone in an experiment in a large open room using the Glyn Johns technique and two cheap overheads (Chord OCM3's) with an additional room mic (AT2020). The results were very Led Zeppelin-esque, producing a warm and roomy sound. When recording professionally, I've use this as an additional microphone partnered with a D112 inside the shell, close to the beater to produce a very full Bass Drum sound. I've also experimented with it when recording Vocals, which created a good result with some compression and minimal EQ tweeks. A Pop-shield is essential though, as this mic is very sensetive to sibilance. A good choice beginners Microphone for recording vocals. All in all, a good little studio mic for people who are interested in learning how to record music or more experienced Audio Engineers who fancy messing around. Perfect for students or new musicians who want to learn on a budget.

A good value, low-priced microphone - works fine for spoken word recordings.
I bought this cheap microphone for recording a couple of theatre productions. It's very basic, but the sound quality was decent, with no noticeable hum or distortion. I found it able to pick up a decent area around the microphone, allowing recording of a live play at a reasonable gain level without adding too much noise. I've had it connected both to a Behringer mixer and a Behringer UMC404HD sound card, and it's worked well in all usage so far. I admit I'm no expert in sound engineering, and I don't have much experience of other microphones. But you're unlikely to find many or any other new microphones at a lower price than this, so if you need a basic condenser mic at a low price then I think this will do fine - certainly for spoken word recordings. I don't have the ears or experience to judge its suitability for music, but I'm perfectly happy with it for the uses I've had. I've also recorded a couple of quick voice-overs with it, and the audio was clear and noiseless and quite satisfactory. If you're on a budget I think this is a good buy.

Too hissy for me
Bought this needing another microphone in addition to a RODE NT1a I already own. Thought I would try to see if a much cheaper option could compete. Amazon service was up to its usual excellence: so no complaints there. Unfortunately although the mic gave a reasonable response for the instruments and vocals involved, it just couldn't compete against the excellent low noise floor of the RODE. The RODE is quite a bit more money, particularly as you can't buy it without the shock mount, pop shield extras. However that extra money will save loads of time in editing trying to remove the noise of the lesser mic. If you are doing podcasts or voice-overs then this mic could well be excellent value. If you want to record acoustic instruments and vocals and don't want a lot of faffing about to remove noise then there are quieter mics available. I am now ordering another RODE.

Behringer C1 is a great mic for its' cost
The Behringer C1 is a great mic for the money. Not the greatest microphone ever made but the C1 is a competent lower costing microphone with decent specifications that can be used for pretty good sounding recordings. On voice it does require a decent pop filter and is definitely not a hand held microphone. It should be stand mounted with an isolation clip if possible. Also, WARNING ... This microphone requires a phantom power supply of at least 36 volts to work properly. Many smaller consoles do not supply enough voltage which will produce inferior audio results. 48 volts is what I would recommend for best results.

Está excelente, del color creí que era como el de la imagen, pero va más para el dorado, pero fuera de eso está excelente, se escucha muy bien
