Great quality pro planer

Bought to replace my 30 year old wired electric plane. Works great. Purchased the optional collector bag as using it indoors. Have done 8 doors so far and can say it is easy to use. Depth of cut easy to change and appears to be accurate. Reasonably light but 5a/h battery using with makes it heavier but lasts ages. Would probably be better with smaller battery and change more often. No cable makes much easier to use. Love it so far.

exactly what i need, good quality, and very useful function, noise level acceptable, and good price.

This cordless planer has come in very handy whilst doing a house renovation & extension. I had a corded 230v planer before this & I couldn’t get on with it as it was super loud, aggressive and just not nice to use. This Makita cordless one is much more user friendly, motor is nice & quiet, has had enough power to plane down multiple material types including oak doors, CLS timber, 18mm ply etc. My tip would be to practice on scraps first… I only ever seem to use it on its lowest setting and take multiple passes at reducing the thickness. The planer is light to hold, easy to adjust & I found it worked well with a Henry Vacuum attached to it with a bit of gaffa tape on the suction / dust extractor port, made the job a lot cleaner! I have taken 1 star off as it could do with a 45 or 90 degree adapter on the suction / dust extractor port to put the hose at a better angle when using.

Works so well and best of all no need to plug it in.

Very well done. Easy to setup and use. Just one should keep in mind that the tool length is a bit wider than you might think. I made that mistake and damaged the side of the door frame. One should buy the vacuum adapter, will give you a very clean job.
