Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: The best book in my cookery collection. Rare find that works every time! - Growing up in Russia Georgian food was something we ate on special occasions and in restaurants. For the past 20 years of living in the UK I've been trying to find a book of Georgian recipes but couldn't. I brought some back from Russia but they didn't work because some ingredients are impossible to find here and others are just different. Every time I travel to Russia I'd eat in Georgian restaurants and wonder just how the Brits have not yet discovered Georgian food! It is the most underrated cuisine in the world. It is totally delicious, full of flavour, fresh ingredients yet can be so easy to cook. Now this book fixed my problem. I am so glad I found it. For the past few days I've cooked every family meal from it and it worked. The recipes are carefully thought through, obviously well tested and, most importantly, changed to include the ingredients we can find in most supermarkets here. I did have to order a few special spice mixes but they were not expensive and available on a few websites (which were also recommended in the book). I love cooking and I owe a lot of cookery books. It is, however, very rare for me to be stuck on one or wanting to read it from cover to cover. Supra is different. I love the stories which are just long enough to capture imagination and sense the atmosphere, but not long enough to bore you. The sketches and photography accompanying the recipes are stylish and good quality. And most importantly, I've been wanting to cook every single recipe from it and I'm getting there. If you love Georgian food, fresh ingredients, herbs and spices, if you want to try something different and be pleasantly surprised, give this wonderful book a go. Review: A Feast for the Senses - Georgian cuisine was a late discovery for me but the sheer hedonistic delight of a 'Supra' feast is guaranteed to awaken jaded palates. The unusual combinations of spices such as Blue Fenugreek and the use of nuts make for a rich experience. Little meat-filled dumplings often accompany the meal - good on their own as a light meal - one holds them by their pastry stalk and sucks out the meat and juice. Delicious. However, one must really like walnuts and aubergines as they are a frequent ingredient - fortunately I do. The Lamb recipes are exceptionally good and will enhance one's reputation as a dinner party cook.

A Feast for the Senses

Perfect intro to Georgian food
A beautiful book which really captures the essence of Georgian cooking. The recipes are easy to follow and although they do require the purchase of additional spices, these are easy to obtain online and give the food that unmistakable Georgian taste. Having eaten in many Russian restaurants which serve this cuisine, these recipes are the closest I've ever come to recreating the flavours and visual feast I experienced at the time. Highly recommended.

Great book: delicious, easy to cook recipes with a captivating story!
As a frequent guest of Little Georgia restaurants in Islington and Hackney, I was really looking forward to buying this book in order to reproduce refined authentic cooking of Little Georgia at home. This book exceeded my every expectation: along with delicious, easy to cook recipes and mouth-watering illustrations, there runs a background story of cosy, nostalgic childhood memories, brought back to life through scents and tastes of a family cooking. It will strike a chord with every reader! I highly recommend it as a valuable addition for any cook –book library and also as a great present.

Great book for something different :)
My love for the Georgian food is when I have tasted in the restaurants in Moscow. One thing that I have learnt is that Moscow people love Georgian cooking and now I do. Always looking for new ideas for lovely cooking recipes that I can try out new and especially trying to re-create this lovely cuisines some how we have missed in the UK. The author does have a restaurant and in London and I am keen to try out however I have fallen in love with this book. The recipes are amazing and I have tried a couple of them and they have so far worked for me. I love their breads however not tried to make it but the use of walnuts in meat sauces is amazing. I would highly recommend this book if you would like to try something new and impress your family.

Beautiful Book but too British
Really nicely made book. However, I feel that most of the recipes have been simplified and converted to the "British cusine". It is good for those people who want to try the Georgian cusine but I feel like this book should offer the original recipes as well for its readers.

Very good introduction to the "Supra"-feast. Inspiring recipes, each with a bit of background. Very good and colorful pictures. Make sure you have a substantial stash of walnuts, when starting with the recipes! :D

Classical recipes. Not all of them include pictures, but if you know Georgian food and are looking for easy, step-by-step instructions to make it yourself, this is ideal.
