One thing I'm always cautious about when looking for replacement/refillable paper for my travel journal is paper quality; if it's thin, flimsy or bleeds through when writing with a pen/marker/paint/glue.This paper is pretty much perfect (for me). It's not thin nor flimsy, and the softness of the paper holds whatever you're writing with a pen perfectly. No bleed-throughs, no bends when flipping through, and writing is smooth (not slippery).Definitely a great pack for the price!

amazing paper witha good form factor graph paper is neat and not to dark so you can still take notes on it.one really nice feature is that you can photocopy the notebook lying spine up and its the same size as a piece of letter paper. so far has held up very well and its nice you can decorate and draw on the cover. would recommend and buy again

I bought these notebooks to insert into my Lochby field journal since Lochby was out of stock. Being about 1/6 the price, I didn't have high expectations but they turned out to be much better than expected. As you can see from my photos, they are fountain pen friendly with pretty much no ghosting and only the Sharpie chisel tip bleeding through. I would recommend these for sure.

These notebooks are perfect for keeping track of anything. I have a pack of them and grab a new one when needed (as does my husband). They are great quality and great value. The price per notebook is cheaper than you'll find anywhere else. I appreciate the plain brown heavy paper covers. If you're artistically inclined, you could easily decorate the cover with paint or collage. Highly recommend, once this pack runs out, I'll buy another one.

I used the same model of pen and nib (Jinhao x450 <M>) with different brands of the most popular inks in each of these samples to give a fair comparison. Humidity in the room was 56-59%. All the inks and pens mentioned in this review are available here on Amazon.Binding: These notebooks are a stitched binding, so naturally, you'll need to break the spine for each page if you want the book to lay flat. But once you've broken the notebook's spine, it holds its new shape very well.Appearance: Tired of bright oranges and blues on the cover of your notebooks? These are a perfect alternative; a warm, light-brown cover made of relatively heavy (though pliable) card stock and NO printing or logos to be found. They're perfect for places where your notebook must be subtle and subdued so as to not distract from the message of the meeting (I'm thinking church, business dinners, etc.)Paper colour: This paper is very warm-coloured. The description claims these pages are yellow, which would not be fair to the manufacturer. It's a VERY pale yellow, perhaps best described as pale ivory - almost like aged, white paper. If you're looking for a vintage look for your daily note-taking with fountain pens, this paper is precisely what you're looking for. My only suggestion is to use a medium nib with fast-flowing, warm-toned inks (reds, oranges, browns, pale yellows). A pale, sepia-toned brown might look incredible on this paper. The paper doesn't lend itself well to contrast, so if you're fond of brilliant blues, you might be disappointed. Subtle colours seem to be its forté.Weight: This isn't 80gsm paper, but it's not some cheap 20 lb. bond either (despite its incredibly low price).Quality: Unwaxed, which is good for fountain pens. It's fibrous, so it absorbs ink very quickly. Drying time depends more on the ink you're using, of course, but even my wettest inks and nibs dry quickly on this paper.Smoothness: Let's face it, this is not one of those "premium" fountain pen papers, and it's not vellum. It has a bit of toothiness, even with the smoothest, most polished nibs. It's relatively fibrous, too, which explains its high absorption rate. If you demand your fountain pens write like butter on a hot plate every time you write, you may not like this paper. If, however, you prefer a tiny bit of feedback and toothiness, you'll probably love these notebooks for everyday use.Feathering: No matter the ink used, there was definite feathering. Now, this could be from oils on my skin (even "premium" papers will see feathering if your hands are oily), but you can see the feathering in the top sample. The other inks feathered to a lesser extent, but it was still present on close inspection.Ghosting: Yes, though, as you can see, some inks ghost more than others.Bleed: The top sample saw some pretty serious bleed, though the others did not.Conclusion: It sounds like I'm dogging this paper, but I'm not. Not by a long shot. True, this is not fine writing paper for correspondence, but if you're looking for a paper to take quick notes with at church, during business dinners, while travelling (and are tired of spending megabucks on the premium brands), these notebooks are an incredible value. If you're like me and refuse to take notes on your phone or computer, but prefer a fountain pen and paper for everyday note-taking, this is what you're looking for.Rating: For everyday note-taking, 5/5.
