The tension knob for my Neumann TLM 103 shock mount broke right before a very important session and I was scrambling to get a replacement. Not only does the base shock mount fit perfectly for the 103, I could also use the tension knob from this set for my 103's regular shock mount. So now I've got my regular shock mount working and this version as a backup in case something breaks again. Super fast delivery, came in 1 day. I don't usually write reviews but this one sure saved my bacon!!

I've been using mine in the studio for the past three years. I run a commercial facility so it gets wear and tear. Still holding up.

I own the actual Neumann shock mount too which costs 4X what this one does. The build quality of this is very similar and it cost me about as much as the replacement bands I needed for the other one do. We’ll see how it stands the test of time but so far I’m impressed. I saw a few reviews say it doesn’t fit the 103. It absolutely does. You just have to make sure you select the right one in the listing. They have a several of them for different mics.

First of all, these bands are too tight to absorb much bass. Shock bands need to be fairly loose in order to really reduce shock. When you bump these, they might as well just be on a normal mount. My Neumann mount bands have just right amount of play so you can bump them and they won’t respond as much. Secondly, Beware-- Bands are not replaceable. The bands are slotted through a closed needles eye on the inner cradle. Normal shockounts should have a side-slot that lets you add/remove bands. This is a bad design on an otherwise quality product, and it will most likely require you to buy a new shockmount when the bands get old. Look for something else. The upsides are that the metal seems of good quality, and the locking mechanism is easy to use and locks down tight. Probably Still better than paying $300 for a Neumann mount, if it's your only option... but I'm returning this for a different product that allows band replacement.

It matched perfectly exactly what I wanted

I already own a proprietary Neumann shock mount for the TLM 103, which got damaged and needed replacement. Considering how the proprietary Neumann one costs $500 - I expected this $50 one to be very cheaply made or ugly or didn't match the nickel of the Neumann one. Not at all the case, it's robust, the colours match perfectly, it comes pre-assembled, sturdy, elegant, you'll never notice the difference. I can 100% recommend it - save your hard earned money for a second mic instead of an overpriced shock mount.
