Nice little gadget.
I often use my computer with the room lights off. This little light helps me out a lot as my monitors poorly cast light on my keyboard. If your keyboard is close to your monitors you probably won't need this lamp. It doesn't provide full keyboard illumination unless you drill some holes in it. But if you're like me and have your monitors wall-mounted this is a nice gadget to have. (The reviewer was compensated for posting this review. Neat idea, but not very bright
Bought this for the Tarantula keyboard a good 5 or so years ago. The good: Fits/installs the keyboard perfectly, still works after many, many years and rotates up and down, side to side. Has an on/off button The bad: Doesn't illuminate very well. It would need to be two to three times as long and twice as thick to really illuminate the huge keyboard. I bought it to game in the dark, or near dark and since its a 'cool blue' light (think sapphire color) its a dark colored LED shining on a gloss back keyboard. My light has four LEDS, two on each side, and isn't a solid light bar like the picture shows. There are dead spaces of no light. Seems to light up from the 'G' key to the 'ENTER' key and kinda from the Function keys to the space bar. Its very cool looking, but won't replace a lighted keyboard. After many years (these keyboards aren't cheap and it was a gift) I ended up getting a lighted Razer keyboard so I can see in the dark.

Mostly For Aesthetic Purposes...
Got this a year or 2 years ago. Like most of what the other reviewers said the coverage of the light illuminating the keys are only limited and mainly only illuminates the center portion. Maybe Razer should have designed a WIDE ANGLE light then this would have probably been more useful. Or maybe they could have made the lamplight longer but of course this would only magnify its presence as an unnecessary CLUTTER. This is the only keyboard I know that has this light attachment. A for originality, but D for functionality. It looks rather dumb and primitive since if its real purpose was to make it easier to see the keys then I suggest that you buy an illuminated keyboard like the Saitek II Eclipse or the Logitech G19(if you can afford it!). Built in keyboard lights seem more logical and leaves the keyboard CLUTTER-FREE...

Cheap piece of plastic
I was excited when the Battlelight was finally released for sale. Razer has been promising its release for over a year now. So, I would have thought, that during all the extra time in R&D that they had to perfect it, that Razer would have made the Battlelight a super product like the rest of Razer's product line. Boy was I wrong, and disappointed. I ordered my Battlelight through Amazon and within 24 hours the cheep piece of plastic broke at the neck part where the light adjusts up and down. I have not sent it back since it was so cheap, and really do not want another one, so I am using the broken one with electrical tape holding it together. Pros: Adds a "light" and a piece of plastic to go into the Tarantula Battle dock Cons: Cheap Construction Poor Lighting - only illuminates middle keys Minimal Flexibility - breaks easy Can't move it to left or right....just up and down (would be nice to turn it to light the AWSD keys for gaming which are all on left side NOT the middle of keyboard) Overpriced for poor craftsmanship and quality SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A DESK LAMP WITH A BLUE LIGHT BULB!!!!

Easy Setup, Easy Frags
The BattleLight is a great accessory for the Tarantula. I expected to run into some obstacles to get things to work correctly, as you do with many add-ons, but the BattleLight was as plug-and-play as you get. I've only gotten to use it for the past few days, but so far its a great help and I'm excited to reap the benefits for a long time. Stop fumbling around in dark areas and start racking up more frags!
