Healthy and easy to make
Buckwheat grosts are new to me and I’ve eaten a lot in my 63 years. Yum. I use my Itaki Bento Go (glorified steamer cooker). I rinsed the grist’s as I would yellow mung dal or basmati rice: until tye water runs clear. Then I soaked it overnight to make porridge for breakfast (dentist has me in treatment for lifelong TMJ pain so I’m on soft foods lately). Most of the water was soaked up and I wanted to add walnut halves so I added a smidge more water, pushed the button, set my watch time for 30 minutes and went about my AM routine. 30 minutes was good but 45 would have been perfect. And 2 oz dry cooks up to fill the entire metal insert (bowl it cooked in). lol years of Kasha. The taste is toasted nutty and tasted sooo good. I added butter honey and frozen blueberries. Next time I’ll make a savory dinner with sautéed mushroom slices and sliced olives etc etc. Can make a mango cherry tomatoes parsley buckwheat groats tabbouleh too with hummus dressing (all DIY). If I don’t mill myself I’ll start making a small portions to have my disabled mom try out. Product arrived intact no hidden damages in-transit. Smelled fresh and the bag was stamped with Best By date, but this groat, like my kitchari, will be eaten before it goes stale. No zipper lick so you can put it in a wide mouth mason jar (QT size) with either a desiccant packet and it an oxygen packet to keep it fresh. I forgot the nutrient label to comment on protein content etc, but depending on groat:liquid ratio and time cooking, you can have a fluffy chewy groat or a congee. Great value for the money spent. Thus bag was sourced in Russia. Next bag I’ll try Ukrainian then USA for comparisons. Hearty filling tasty HEALTHY food.

DELICIOUS and NUTRITIOUS
Am amazed how many citizens in our great USA have never ever had the pleasure of eating this healthy, low calorie, nutritious, delicious, GLUTEN FREE, grain !!! I Love it hot, with or without butter and/or gravy, on its own, as a side..or cold alone, or with olive oil vinaigrette, in a salad... This is heart healthy and nutty, filling and nutritious ! What are you waiting for ? It's easy to make. In twenty minutes your meal is ready with a perfect texture and a wonderful color. Two parts water to one part grain...simmer covered for 20 minutes.

Ed Knows Buckwheat
I've bought Uvelka Buckwheat for several years. Excellent flavor, texture, ease of preparation, and reminders of my grandmother. Fair price, too.

Poor packaging
It arrived with a split bag, loose buckwheat in the box. Maybe it should be put into a plastic bag before being put into the shipping box. The original product bag is flimsy.

Good buckwheat, bad shipping.
Good buckwheat, but bad shipping.Bag of buckwheat was shipped in an envelope which caused the bag to rip open.

Satisfied Customer So Happy He Reveals His Mother's Porridge Recipe.
I grew up on rolled oat porridge. However, after I turned 60 I switched to wheat groats as they seemed to be more substantial. However, I am now over 80 years old and my stomach started to complain after breakfast. Since many seem to avoid gluten, I tried buckwheat groats. They were quite tasty. Alas the only buckwheat groats I could find were from a specialty miller, very expensive and not always available. These Uvelka groats are considerably cheaper than other brands. I was suspicious at first. However, after eating them for six months they have proved to be as good or better than the high priced buckwheat. My recipe is: 1/3 cup of raw buckwheat groats rinsed and added to 2/3 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil, cover and turn heat to a simmer. When the water is absorbed, 15-20 minutes or so, remove from heat and let rest covered for 10 minutes. Check groats are soft or replace cover and wait some more. When done fluff with a fork. Optionally serve with chopped fruit, maple syrup or honey to taste,

Calidad no es nada de buena.
Ojo.
