The ONLY safety/earthquake/child latch to use!!
This is the ONLY safety/earthquake/child proof latch to use, bar none. I have some of these (different brand name but same design and material) which are going on 45 years of constant use in my kitchen, 100% as strong and functional as the day I put them in. They surpass ANY plastic one in durability, and are easy to install and efficient to open. In a strong earthquake, they will not open no matter what is slammed against them from inside the cabinet, where plastic will fail. Super simple design.

easiest to install
These are wonderful. when the grandkids are not here, you just bend them down. The grands show up, you just bend them back till they engage with screw. I used these when my kids were young.

Great latches that work when others failed.
Great latches that work when others failed. Very sturdy since they are metal with screws! Not always easy to install, but worth the extra effort.

Great for tight spaces, plus strength and durability
Most of the drawers in our kitchen had very little space between the top of the drawer and the bottom of the frame. Since plastic isn't as strong as steel, the parts have to be thicker/bulkier to be strong enough to hold the drawer closed. The catch of the latches has to fit between the frame and the drawer, but the plastic catch plate was too thick and prevented many of our drawers from closing. The metal latches don't depend on a bulky catch plate and fit easily in even the tightest spaces without obstructing the drawer. These are also easier to mount than the plastic latches. The plastic latches use a catch plate attached to the inside of the frame that needs 2 screws that can be hard to set straight when the drawer is shallow. These metal latches use a single screw instead of a catch plate, and the screw is set at an angle that makes it easy to drill. The latch is made from 1mm thick stainless, which is very stiff. However, it doesn't have to be pushed down much to unlatch so it actually works easier than the plastic latches. Bending it up or down to adjust takes a bit of force, but is simple. This makes it easy to get exactly the amount of 'catch' that you want, with precise tolerance. These steel latches are much stronger than even the thickest plastic latches, and latch much more securely than the plastic latches.

Great item, very expensive.
I needed fasteners like this for a home project. These are very stiff and sturdy, but very pricy for what they are. Puzzling. I returned most and found supplier of a similar steel product. If you need something like this and price is a lesser issue, you’ll be pleased w this product.

"Old School" Design and Durability
We have used a similar item for many years on a cabinet door beneath the sink but had to search high and low for them until we found the "Tin Soldier" brand that is made in exactly the same way as the one that has lasted since we moved into the house in 1988. Its simple design is its secret: just a piece of springy steel that fastens to the cabinet door with an opening for a screw to slip into when the door is shut. When a child (or in our case, a curious dachshund) tries to open the door, it catches on the screw you put into the cabinet frame and will only open about an inch or so. An adult or older child can easily open the door just by pressing downwards on the steel part attached to the door. Just a fraction of an inch of downward movement releases it. It's really not hard to install at all, although a little care is necessary to get the depth of the screw on the cabinet frame right, so it might take a minute or two of adjustment. Once installed, it ought to last far beyond the toddler years and be there decades later for pets and grandchildren to come, although it's easily removed. We've always liked the fact that it doesn't depend on moving parts, springs, etc., and there's nothing really to break. Sometimes the simple things are the best!

So worth it!
These work! Work well! And don't feel like they will ever break. Out of my 4 kids, the youngest has been my stoutest puzzle solver ever! I have tried 11 types of baby locks! Pretty sure they are just brain teasers that he thinks need solving. I have only installed one of these so far and none of my kids can open the drawer. 😁. My cabinets are cherry so the wood is very hard and I wasn't able to get all the screws in. I'm waiting for the hubby to finish the job for me. Even with a half install, it works. I love them! They are more $ than other locks, but they are worth it knowing my kiddo can't get past this lock. Yay for small businesses too. If I need to lock more than 5 drawers I will definitely order these. I just wish I had found these ones sooner.
