Does this unit leave a white residue on everything?

We will be happy to provide that information. The white residue you may see when using ultrasonic humidifiers such as this one is directly related to the minerals in your water. If you are finding that you have white residue, we would advise mixing in distilled water to lessen the amount of minerals in the water. I connected everything and it doesn't work. it does not produce any steam. why? is it the mineral content of the water, needing some salt? how much?

We will be happy to assist you. You do not need to add minerals to the water of this unit, as it is an ultrasonic humidifier, not a vaporizer. Please make sure the float is installed correctly and is moving freely to allow water to get into the base of the unit. Additionally, we would advise starting by turning the unit to the highest setting for at least an hour or until the humidity in the air feels comfortable, then turning down the knob until you hear a click. That is because this unit has a relative humidistat. Does this make bubbly noticable sounds when in use?
