Small but mighty pen! One of Fisher's classics wins again!
I heard about the Fisher Space Bullet Pen on another website showcasing the best-rated pens on the internet. I was shopping for a quality pen that I could use for writing on a daily basis, such as jotting down ideas or coming up with that next great blockbuster. I picked the matte black version of the Fisher Bullet Space Pen because it included a clip to attach to a pocket or a notebook. When I received the pen, I will admit, I immediately became worried that I made a bad purchase. IT'S SO SMALL!!! I saw pictures, and read descriptions, but I never considered how small of a footprint it actually leaves! It quickly changed once I removed the cap and attached it to the end of the base of the pen. It was a standard size pen at that point, so it was time to try it out. I'm into the โEverday Carryโ lifestyle, and the Fisher Bullet Space Pen has not let me down! I have a writing kit that I carry with me to work when I want to work on a project during lunch breaks, and it's small stature allows me to comfortably carry it in the kit. Also, I have a pocket Field Notes notebook that I attached a clip to, and then I connected the pen to it, and carry it in my lapel pocket for whenever I come up with something I need to write down when I can't have my phone out. It's great to have that luxury of discretion! It is now my go-to pen for most planning and projects. It does not smudge, it writes smoothly, fits comfortably in my hand, and doesn't bleed through any and all standard paper types! The manufacturer states that the ink will last a long time, so I'm not too worried about getting a refill anytime soon. I would like to see a matte red and matte blue version with corresponding ink, as I would immediately buy those to add to my collection of writing tools! I highly recommend this pen!

Perfect for the Pocket!
This is a bullet pen. That means it is smaller than ordinary pens and has a bullet shaped end. I find the shorter length very convenient for pocket carrying. Very well constructed with superior materials.

Big things can come in little packages; a deceivingly great pen!
This thing is -small- but still fits perfectly in my hand! When closed, this thing is super small and you'd think that when you open it, it would just feel too small to write with. But when you put the cap on the back, it locks on great and fits perfectly in your hand and writes with 0 issues. I added this to my EDC of the Sling Plus Nutsac bag (I know, awful name) and it fits perfectly onto the inner molle straps and doesn't take up more than 1 small row. I have added a Zebra FZ01 pen next to it (a great heft clicker pen; love the click on it) and got some Field Notes to write notes and such while out and about. Always growing but I can see why these pens might last forever with the owner itself if cared for correctly. Seals great when the cap is put back on and the clipped version is the one you want moreso than none clip. A great addition to anyone's stuff!

Over all good pen
My wife purchased this for me about 6 months ago and I have to say that the over all design has held up well (minus a few things). If it looks beat up that because I actually use it everyday in a factory setting. The clip is not actually attached to the pen, at least mine wasnโt, so once it broke free of its initial setting it never really went back and ended up just rubbing off the paint until I finally just removed it. Otherwise I have 0 complains. Itโs made it through the wash, being dropped, stepped on, thrown in pocket with keys and other items. Has yet to fail on its primary function at all. I would have given it 5 starts if not for the clip. But to be fair to the product Iโm rougher on it than say an office worker.

Great EDC pen, versatile and portable
UPDATE 06/21: I've carried this pen everyday since March 16 (now June 21) and the clip has never moved, in the slightest. Five Star rating still stands. Perfect EDC (Every Day Carry) pen. At work I carry it in my trouser pocket, at play I carry it in my fifth pocket. It's barely noticeable while carrying and changes to a full size pen when the cap is placed. The pen is thin, like a traditional BIC pen, and the clip keeps it from rolling off desks. The infamous clip: I've carried the pen everyday since March 16th (now April 8th) and the clip has never moved, doesn't feel like it's going to move nor does it feel like it's going to snap/break. Maybe Fisher slides them on tighter than before during manufacturing, maybe I got lucky, maybe some others got unlucky, who knows. Remember, I use the clip daily. FYI, there are replacement clips available. The cap: There's some reviews that claim the cap is loose. I've tried violently shaking the pen holding just the cap (thinking forcing ketchup out of a bottle) in it's closed and open position and it didn't move. Either people don't know how to put the pen cap on properly or their rubber o-ring is damaged, compromising the seal it creates when the pen is closed. Here's a tip: when you take off or put on the cap, do it while twisting the cap. It's that much easier to take off the cap and it creates a better seal when closing it. The ballpoint: The pen writes better than most ballpoint pens but don't try to compare it to a Mont Blanc or something of that nature. I'll order one soon but many have said the fine point ink cartridge writes several steps above the medium ink cartridge, which ships with the pen. Writeability(?)/clogging: Some reviews mention clogging and skipping. I use the pen every day, several times a day and I've never come across this. When I use my pen for the first time in the morning, it gets right to writing without any delay. I think others have a faulty cartridge; I know someone who's contacted Fisher about this and was sent a replacement cartridge, free of charge. And yes, it works great upside down, on greasy paper (WD-40) and on wet paper (spilled water bottle). It even wrote on a white subway tile (kitchen back-splash). Portability: This pen defines portability. I saw a complaint about the pen not having a key ring; reviewer should have looked at the Fisher trekker Space Pen. TIP: Fisher warranties this pen much like Zippo warranties their lighters; if there is anything mechanically wrong with the pen, send it in and they will repair or replace it. The Fisher website has more details. I've included two pictures for size comparison.

AG-7 vs Bullet
First off, I purchased the Fisher Bullet and the AG-7 at the same time. After reading all the poaitive reviews spread throughout the web, the plan was to carry the Bullet, and use the AG-7 at the office. They were both delivered within the 2 days for prime members and I immediately inpsected these marvels. First reactions. AG-7, felt really loose at the clicker. I thought that if I shook the pen hard enough, it would engage the clicker and the point would be exposed. Once engaged, the medium point is huge. I feel like I'm writing with a marker. The fine point tips are ordered and on the way! After disassembling the pen numerous times, trying to think of a way to make the pen more "solid", I simply tried a few different springs from a few different clickers and found a good match to the barrel of the Fisher. You can't pull the factory spring out (which bothers me), but you can semmingly put another spring in the barrel without damaging the internals. Problem solved. The clicker now has some substantial beef behind it and there is no play in the pen. I feel like I effectively doubled the amount of pressure it takes to click the pen. The pen now feels 100% solid in my hand. Bullet: Awesome...I have large hands and after moving the cap to the rear of the pen, it is an excellent writing instrument. Can't wait to get the fine point cartridges for the Bullet and AG-7. I bought the matte black version and I'm very pleased. Feels solid, collapses to a great pocket size, and writes wonderfully. Can't ask for much more. Although, I did buy the version with the clip already "installed". It fell off the first time I tried to clip it to something. Tried to put it back on the pen, but ended up scratching the pen and didn't feel like it was secure, so I took it off. Save your money, get the bullet without the clip. I'm glad to have both, but if I had to pick one, I'd probably pick the bullet over the AG-7. Price, versatility, and the ability to throw it in a pair of jeans and not worry about ink stains or stabbing my leg all point towards the Bullet.

Like a kid with a new toy
Ordered a few days ago and waited not so patiently for it to arrive. I have retired recently and taken up Bird Watching again. So I ordered a Bird Watchers Note Book and then though I know what will happen, I will forget to take a pen or pencil and it's a bind in the rain to try writing something. So (Space Pen) how delightful is this, small before you fit the lid back onto it very smooth and will write in any conditions (Even the vacuum of space). Easy fit into the pocket. I would have liked a point to attach a string or something to it but still think it is wonderful. :-> Go ahead and buy one you know you want to. Update Nov 2013 Still love this pen. Bought a refill in case it ran out which is still as not done. A tale: Told my grandson then aged 6 that it will work anywhere, in space, under water. He said show me, so we ended up in the bathroom sink with a bit of cardboard under water and me writing his name on it. It worked without a problem. He was well amazed. Still not able to show him it works in space saddly.

Great everyday pen
Gotta say I was kind of apprehensive at first when I saw a nearly $50 price tag on a pen, but I'd see a lot of them online, plus I got my tax return back recently and figured I should give it a try. Well let me say, hoo-wee. Definitely worth it. I'm a man that always likes to have a pen that's functional, durable and writes smoothly. I like the small size when capped, as it neatly fits in my pocket without any issue, many times I have to do the Pat down to make sure it's still there (it always is)! So far it appears durable, and the ink quality is high. The matte metal itself is functional, comfortable and looks great. Everyone notices my pen. I'm very impressed with the writing quality as well, I'm a man who likes his pens a certain way, smooth, easy flowing and not messy. This is all of that. The ink dries nearly instantly, it's always there and it's always smooth. Highly recommend the pen for someone that wants a keeper.
