One of the best games of the last few years
Such a fantastic game. If you like games like the classic Final Fantasies and Chrono Trigger, you're going to like this. Great music, deep character building (lots of min/maxing) and a beautiful world to explore made this game an absolute joy to play through.

Decent RPG
After playing the new, disappointing FF and VP series by Square Enix, Octopath Traveler II was a pleasant surprise. Large maps, interesting and intricate stories, pleasant music (reminded me of older FF BGM), all-star voice actors (Japanese), and beautiful graphics (despite old-fashioned dot pics) -- it's a well-made game. The adventures of 8 characters are guaranteed to entertain us for many, many hours -- highly recommend!

Unbelievable
This game , oh man this game is hands down one of the greatest turn based jrpgs ever . The soundtrack alone puts it leagues ahead of any would be competion . The 8 separate character stories connect and intertwine with the side stories and combine to bring the entire experience to an amazing conclusion . The 2d sprite work is beautiful and the backgrounds look amazing .

Good
It was fun but kinda meandering in the middle and then very slow at the end. I have it 5* because it was a quality designed game with a lot of story and it would probably be more fun on a Switch

Great RPG
Very well done, engaging enough storyline and characters without being too dense or boring

Not related to the Octomom in anyway
I recently got the hankering for an old school, turn based RPG, something to remind me of my early days of gaming, back when $1.25 could get you a Mountain Dew AND a Snickers. Around this same time this hankering sprang on me, this game went on sale. Next thing I know, my little lizard brain is adding it to my cart, in hopes that this will be the product that finally turns my life around. And did it? Read on to find out!! I never played the first Octopath game, so I was worried I wouldnโt understand what was going on story-wise. Not to spoil the rest of the review, but I donโt understand the story. I think that has nothing to do with not playing the first game. It seems to be a standalone game with similar gameplay to the first, kind of like the final fantasy series. I could be way off though, Iโm not exactly Albert Einstein, despite what all the kids at school called me. So to start you pick one of eight characters (Octo is Greek for 8!) and away you go! I inadvertently chose the guy who starts off in a far away prison, sentenced for murdering his family in a fire. Real uplifting character to start off with. Is it a coincidence that I am currently struggling to connect with my real life family, and was once called a โfirebugโ as a young man? Letโs hope so! Regardless of which character you initially chose, you quickly end up finding the other characters and learning their stories. They all kind of felt like knock off versions of characters from other RPGs (a lot of FF3 vibes, not that Iโm complaining!), and the voice acting is ATROCIOUS. Iโve heard better line reads at my 9 year oldโs school plays, and brother, my 9 year old ainโt exactly Daniel Day Lewis! Hey Square, next time you need some voice acting, hit up your boy Trevor J! Iโd be much worse than any of the actors in this game, but Iโd still like to give it a try! The graphics are beautiful. Theyโre pixel art, with the 3d backgrounds, and I canโt say enough how gorgeous everything is. The effects when you cast spells really fly off the screen (I heard someone describe a movie once where the characters โfly off the screenโ so Iโm stealing that here despite not being exactly sure of the meaning). The fighting aspect is fun but it can be a bit repetitive. All the โbad guysโ are weak to certain attacks, so you exploit that until you โbreakโ them, which basically stuns them, and then you can perform an extra turn of attacks. All the characters have some kind of unique ability that helps keep the combat more interesting for longer. Plus you can assign your characters to different โjobsโ, which gives them different abilities in combat, so that also helps keep things fresh. With eight character stories going at once, all with intersecting paths at different points, the game is understandably all over the place. Iโve been described as โthickโ (not the good kind), โidioticโ, and โdumb as a dogโ on multiple occasions, so I have a hard time keeping up with the simplest of plots. As you can imagine, this one had my head spinning worse than the time my uncle tied a bag of Chips Ahoy to the back of my pants (RIP Uncle Jeremy)! But there were some parts that got thru my admittedly dense noggin and tugged at my admittedly stretched thin heart strings. Will the half beast girl be treated as an equal? Will the warrior return a hero and lead his kingdom? Will whatever is happening with the assassin turn out ok? You have to play the game to find out, cuz Iโll never tell! All in all a great game, just push past the voice acting and turn up the speed of the battles once you get a feel for them. Highly recommended by me, and for the record, my life continues its army crawl towards an inevitably lonely death.

El juego es excelente. De eso no debe haber duda. Pero la caja del juego llego rota como si hubiera sido atravesada por un objeto punzocortante.
