Blue Mini Handmade Lacquer Hand Held Bamboo Fans with Carved Dragonflies

I wanted something small and portable, to fit in my purse for makeup. I wanted something smaller than regular hand fan so it doesn’t take up much space and easy to carry around. For this use, it’ll work well. But from the photos, it was hard to tell what you’d get. The shipping on it was not free and it did take a bit long to arrive since it’s coming from overseas. The other reviews helped me decide, so I’ll add my thoughts. First, the packaging is great! It comes in this blue box that would make a great gift box. Inside the box, the fan comes in a small bag, with a rabbit embroidered on it, to carry the fan for every day use. The fan itself is smaller than a regular hand fan (the paper or fabric ones). I’ve included a picture of a pen (shown beside the fan) so you can compare the length and size. The description of the fan is that it’s made of lacquer. I never had a fan made of lacquer before so I wasn’t sure what that would feel like. In the hand it feels similar to holding a light plastic material. I know lacquer is different, but it is lightweight in the hand. (Bonus for traveling!) I don’t know for sure… but the ends of the fan are thicker so I think they’re made of wood. The only thing I’m concerned about is the durability, since it’s held together my thin threads at the top. But I guess time will tell. Lastly, the dragonfly design is see-through. It’s hard to tell with a white background photo, but it is a cut out design.

Excellent size for carrying in a small purse and for use in crowded spaces where a normal sized fan seems too large.

My friends often compliment me on this fan and ask me where I got it. It's sturdy and opens smoothly.
