Egyptian Sphinx Collectible Figurine

I love ordering small tourist Egyptian statues like this Sphinx.Caught my eye right away. It is quite sturdy and not very expensive and so found a prime spot one of the dressers in my spare bedroom.

"Egyptian" was the Halloween theme this year. It was very challenging to find anything at all that was affordable, as well as realistic looking. I didn't want anything cartoony. I had purchased this Sphinx to use as part of the outdoor display table where I had passed out candy. This figure measured 6.5" long by just under 2" wide, and was just under 5" tall at the head. I had made some pyramids out of styrofoam cube/blocks and sprayed them with sand-textured paint and sat this statue next to them. They looked awesome together. The sculpture itself looked very realistic, the coloring was as described. No surprises. The bottom had a nice black velvet liner so that if you sat it anywhere, it wouldn't scratch the surface. Shipping was really quick too. I would highly recommend this item to anyone. The only thing I wished was that a larger 1' version of this statue would have also been available. It would also be very wise if the same distributor could have sculpted large Pyramids and made them available as well. (That would have really saved me some time as I know I would have purchased them as well had they been available.) I could definitely see where this statue would be terrific to use as part of a display for anyone having to do a school presentation on Egypt. I had also purchased a(Dover) Egyptian Stencil book from Amazon. I had used those to stencil Egyptian images on the large candy pot. It really added to the Egyptian look. I have close to 1000 trick-or-treaters each year. I had many positive comments on the display, and this statue.

Was a little small but was really well made, when I opened it the box was themed which surprised me it was also packaged well, Would buy again.

This Sphinx was perfect for my theme tank, but I had to make some adjustments. It let off a sandy like residue in my fish tank, so I removed it and coated it with enamel. And now no problems there. I would suggest others do the same if you are putting it in water. You should remove the velvet from the bottom too. Cover it with enamel all over and let it completely cure. Afterwards it should be safe for your tank.

Perfect as a gift for that Egyptian Archeology fan in your life. The details are awesome!
