Kaytee Koi's Choice Floating Fish Food for Koi, Goldfish & Pond Fish

i have 5 koi and 3 goldfish outdoors, all ranging in size from about 6 to 16 inches, not including their tails. they love this stuff, they've been on it for maybe a year and a half now. it never gets moldy, seems to last a while. small enough for the goldfish, and the koi can also eat it, although it takes them a bit longer to find and eat enough (it gives the goldfish a chance to compete though). the fishes' colors are bright, the goldfish especially are that gorgeous scarlet color. my tancho kohaku's white turned a buttery yellow on this, but whatever she's still cute yellow. just be aware that may happen with other white fish.

This is good quality fish food. It's a brown color that is normal for what I'm used to getting my fish. The pellets are a good size for both my goldfish, and my koi fish. My goldfish are adults. It seems like the koi like it a lot, and the goldfish are a little bit skeptical of it but they started eating it after a couple of days. That is sort of normal for them whenever I try to change food. But now they're eating it and everything seems to be going great. I think the koi like the taste of it a lot. They are really gobbling it up. And when I can tell it is easy for them to digest it. They are eating a lot of it. It floats, and it doesn't fall apart easily. They eat all of it pretty quickly so I don't know what it will do if I leave it in there because they just eat it too fast. Right now it's the middle of the summer, and so they are really eating a lot. I will slow down when it gets to the fall, but for right now I'm feeding them at least twice a day with it. They look happy to me. I'm going to give it five stars. All the pieces are about the same size. They are not exactly round but sort of round. It doesn't appear to have any rough edges so I'm good with it. I think it's a good value for the money. 3 lb turned out to be a lot.

The pellets float nicely at the surface without dissolving immediately or clouding the pond water. The koi and pond fish go right after it, and it provides great everyday nutrition.

This fish food is fine for pond fish - but it has less protien than another brand I used to buy... the reason I've switched? The high protien fish food has gone up in price drastically, and the current cost is simply outrageous. This isn't. I feed my fish far less of these round pellets as they don't eat as much - they aren't quite as fond of them. I also notice I have to clean out my filters quite a bit more - less protien means more fish waste, which is not ideal, but it's fine. The fact is, most fish don't need to be fed unless you are just wanting them to get larger. They can thrive on snails, algea, insects, larvae, pond worms, microscopic organisms... and they will be just fine. However, it's always enjoyable to give them a small amount of floating food so you can see them more easily. Overall, this is a fine fish food, but I wish the protien were higher.

The food pellets are the right size for my koi fish and even works well in the automatic feeder we tried it in for times when we are away. The fish seems to like these pellets and there is less wastage, the size being right for the size of my fish. Though this is not the only food we are feeding our fish, they seem do be doing fine with it

We have a pond on our property and there are quite a few koi, cosmos and shabunkins in it. Our fish love this food and it is reasonably priced compared to buying it at a pet store.
