I picked up these cat grass refills for our self-watering kit, and they’ve honestly made the whole process so much easier. I used to buy pre-grown grass from the store, but it would go bad quickly or get messy. These refills are way more convenient and feel fresher overall. The seeds sprouted pretty quickly—within just a few days I could already see growth, and in about a week it was ready for my cat to nibble on. The growth was nice and even, and the grass looked healthy and vibrant. Most importantly, my cat actually uses it. She goes to it regularly instead of chewing on random houseplants, which was the main goal. I’ve also noticed less mess compared to other kits I’ve tried, probably because the self-watering setup keeps everything balanced. The only thing I’d mention is that you need to follow the instructions closely, especially with water levels, or it can get a little too damp. But once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty low maintenance. Overall, these refills are a great option if you already have a compatible kit. They’re convenient, grow reliably, and keep my cat happy—definitely planning to keep these stocked.

I never received this package. I ordered another one because my cat really likes the grass. It is a good value for the money, and it is good to know I can use the planter box and unit from the main order. I’m glad I can get the refill soil and seeds for my cat.

My indoors cats love having their own grass pad. These are easy to use. I would follow the directions and soak the seeds the recommended 8 hours and not more. I use these refills in the same brand as the original planting container. I do feel like the mats in the refill packages are not as sturdy and woven as tight as what comes with the starter container. Thus the 4 stars instead of 5. I will continue to purchase but hope the quality of the mat improves. This does not affect the quality of the grass.

Update: customer service was great. I truly believe it was just an error. I will change stars from 1 to 5 . I will gladly buy this product again ! This use to be a great product. This recent order was not! They switched to cheap packaging . And the seed packet has about half of the seeds. It’s not enough to make a full amount . The seeds did not grow and sprout very well . Im kind of disgusted. I will be looking for a different seller.

Grows quick. Tiger liked it right away so I got the refills and after it had its few days of growing I transplanted the grass into my cats outdoor enclosure so he has the real feel of going out and eating grass. Its great cuz I know this grass is easy on his tummy and no more grassy pukes on my carpet. Woohoo! The grass took to outdoor life perfectly and a month later its still long and green and thriving. The grass is doing way better outside then the first batch that I left in the container inside.

This is a fairly easy system . I like the hemp mat and would be interested in trying other seeds.It’s much better than buying cat grass from the store that seems to look old .
