Sweet little general purpose guitar
Very simple guitar, intended for beginners, but it can be set up for intermediate or even pro players. For the money, it is fairly well-made and it sounds really good. It is nice and light. The neck is pretty fast. The tuners feel cheap but they work. The vibrato bridge works well. The pickups actually sound pretty punchy and warm. It could be used as a backup instrument in live performance. I bought mine on Amazon prime deal day and I got it for $51. Once I set it up and put quality strings on it, I had a very playable little axe.

Can’t beat this for the price!
This entry level guitar is so good! It was playable right out of the box. Like most players I have made the usual adjustment to set it up the way I like with no issues. String height, pickup height, intonation are all easily adjustable. I haven’t even changed the strings on it yet, been too busy playing it. This is a great practice guitar as it is super light weight, has great tone. The only area for improvement are the tuners are a little jumpy, but this doesn’t affect playability. I’m blown away how good the guitar is for this low price.

Feels cheap, but gets the important things right for beginners
Going to be reviewing this with beginners in mind. This isn’t a guitar intended for experienced players unless you want to rice it. But if you’re gonna make a $70 guitar and have to cut some corners, I think they cut the right corners on this one. I frankly find it hard to be too critical on this guitar because even though the thing feels cheap as cardboard, it’s perfectly playable for a beginner right out of the box. The intonation was great, the frets were level and had no sharp ends and no fret buzzing, and the electronics all worked and didn’t feel flimsy. As far as the important things are concerned, they got those things right. It plays fine and feels comfortable in the hands (albeit very cheap, but comfortable enough to play). You can tell pretty quickly that this is a very cheap guitar as soon as you start looking at it more closely. It’s completely unbranded, not a single label on it anywhere. The electronics panels still have sawdust and paint in them (I mean, it’s inside the electronics panel, not gonna knock the guitar too hard for this one), and the tremolo springs were VERY tight for some reason. String action was also slightly inconsistent, though not severely so. The finish is good, but it’s printed, not painted, so it’s gonna dent pretty easily. Has a couple small stray paint marks on the headstock, but no blemishes on the front. Looks as good as it does in the pictures. The setup job was decent. It stays in tune reasonably well once you replace the stock strings too, it doesn’t feel as flimsy there as I expected for the price. It’s good enough for a beginner to open the box and play right away, and it’s intonated better than some of the First Act guitars I’ve picked up and tried. As far as the pickups and sound itself is concerned, nobody is buying a $70 to win any tone awards. Whatever you expect this thing to sound like for $70, that’s how it sounds. It’s good enough for a beginner to practice through an amp, and that’s about it. The neck pickup sounds better than the bridge in my opinion (the bridge is a bit bright for my tastes), but again, $70. It’s perfectly fine for a beginner starting out. I could talk about how cheap this thing feels all day, but for $70, they got the important things right. Wouldn’t recommend it for experienced players, but if you’re just trying to buy a starter guitar or a platform ricer guitar (or buying a guitar for a kid that you aren’t sure is committed yet), this thing is fine. It’s a legitimate, perfectly playable guitar for under $100, and that’s a win in my eyes.

Fantastic guitar
I had not purchased a guitar in over 15 yrs, due to the fact that every guitar designs I liked were extremely expensive. Thus was very skeptical due to the price of this guitar. But the pictures were so good, I just couldn't pass this up. Upon arrival, I discovered a fantastic piece of craftsmanship. The baked design with glossy finish, is nothing less than beautiful. The materials and electronics are good quality and sound great. The strings obviously are not the best. But this guitar plays well and sounds amazing for this price. I will be making future purchases from this store. Highly recommend for anyone.

🩷Love the pink, sound is great! 👍🏻
Best pink guitar I ever bought for $90.🩷 I was a little hesitant about buying it because of the color in the images it just looked kind of weird, but it’s actually a really nice pink color. It goes really well with my bedsheet. It’s just as pink as my bedsheets. Great for beginners as Im currently relearning again after years, size is great, its light, love the accessories makes it feel like an expensive guitar, Tuner holds, functions perfectly like a brand new guitar. 🎸🩷

This is a good guitar but I had problems with others
My original review was a one star review based on having received multiple guitars that had to be returned. You can read those reviews below. A Ktaxon representative reached out to me after I posted my reviews, which impressed me from a customer service perspective. I had been really attracted to the Blue Ocean guitar and decided to give them another chance. I have edited this review to three stars as a result because I'm very happy with this guitar. There were no finish problems or blemishes (it's a very attractive guitar), and everything worked and was within spec. I oiled the fret board, tuned the strings, and that was all it needed so I really like this guitar. Good job winning me back Ktaxon! My guitar showed up with a crooked milling on the head stock and neck, looking like a manufacturing defect of some sort. I never bothered tuning the strings, when I saw the problem I just packed it back up and returned it. A replacement is on the way so fingers crossed that it's better than this one. Update, the replacement showed up with a blob of glue on the fret board as in the second photo, and a paint bubble in the body. I sent the both back for a refund so rating this one star.

Quality as per price.
I'm amazed at the playability of this axe. For the price I was pretty well expecting a wall hanging decoration. Instead, I'm very pleased with it. I'm going to upgrade it but I've been jamming on it the last couple days and the tuners aren't as smooth as I'd like but they do tend to stay in tune nicely, even with the cheap, out of the box, strings. For the price this is an excellent guitar. Plays awesomely. I was genuinely surprised. Well worth ninety bucks.
