Clean, neutral, and transparent
The TOPPING E30 II has been a great match for my desktop audio setup and pairs perfectly with the L30 II amplifier. Build quality is solid and confidence-inspiring. It feels well made, looks clean on the desk, and has been completely reliable. I’m using it primarily via USB from my Windows PC, but having USB, optical, and coax inputs adds flexibility for other sources if needed. Sound quality is exactly what I want from a DAC — clean, neutral, and transparent. There’s no added coloration, just a clear and detailed signal that lets the rest of the gear do its job. When paired with the L30 II, the combo feels very cohesive and balanced, delivering a quiet background and excellent clarity. The preamp functionality is also a nice bonus. Output is consistent and easy to integrate into different setups, and everything just works without fuss. Controls are straightforward, and once set up, it’s the kind of component you don’t have to think about. Overall, this is a well-designed, great-sounding DAC that offers strong performance for the price. If you’re running a L30 II or building a clean, modern desktop audio stack, the E30 II is an easy and natural choice.

Wish I could give this 4.5 stars . . .
The Topping E30 ii DAC definitely improved the output quality of music from my Lenovo Yoga laptop. I store all my digital music in lossless format, I don't use mp3's due to the compression & lossy algorithms. I really appreciate being able to get the best out of my music collection & the Topping does just that. I realize everyone doesn't feel the need for the highest quality music reproduction, to some storage space is a concern. But if you're someone with a keen ear & an audio system that reproduces the fine nuances many of us appreciate & demand, a unit like the E30 ii is well worth investigating. I wish I could rate it 4.5 of 5. 5 for quality of reproduction & ease of use, with a small ding for the setup process & supplied documentation.

Great desktop DAC
I bought this to replace my Sound Blaster Z, and so far it's working flawlessly. Windows 10 detects it without any additional driver installation (up to 32 bit / 384 kHz), and I was able to power it with a spare iPhone charger. I'm using mine in DAC-only mode connected up to a set of powered speakers and the sound quality is excellent. The metal housing is also very solid, and looks quite nice on my desk. The only downside is the the single touch button on the front of the unit: it's the only way to change settings without the remote, and it's a bit of a pain to use. You also can't change the volume for the pre-out with it. Thankfully for my use case, I set everything up and don't need to screw with it again. I'd expect something like this to be priced much higher, and barring any future hardware failures, I'm extremely happy with it. Edit: Knocking off a star as the unit seems to have an issue where it will disconnect from my PC with a "pop" through the speakers, and get stuck with "OFF" on the display. In this state, the unit is unresponsive to both the remote and face button. The only way I've been able to solve this issue is to unplug the unit's power and plug it back in. This happens roughly once every 2-3 weeks.

Great value DAC that improved my system with an older CD player
I bought the Topping E30 after researching well-reviewed options in its price range. I don’t have the tools or technical background to perform detailed measurements or critical listening tests, but I can say it does exactly what it promises: clean, stable sound with no noise or issues, and solid overall build quality. I’m using it with an older CD player that has dated internal converters but a digital output, and adding the E30 noticeably improved the overall sound quality of my system. For the price, the value is excellent. Based on this experience, I would definitely buy it again and recommend it.

Get this and leave the DAC game entirely
Works great. Clean sound. I’m out of the dac and source game now. I’m just gonna focus on switching out headphones for changing sounds

Get another, more well known and reputable brand.
Burned out after 7 months. What a ripoff. Get a better DAC from a more established company.

Magic little box that does magical things with your speakers.
Beautiful little magical box. I paired it with my new Kanto Ora speakers and the SUB8 sub. They were all new to me so I don't have a "before and after" of the sound quality. All I can say is that I believe it was an essential purchase in getting the cleanest sound out of my new speakers. Setup was a breeze, installed the drivers before the product arrived, plugged it in, and I was off to the races. It identified the input automatically. The remote is very simple and it reacts quickly. I do wish I could change the display when changing the volume from db's to a percentage, but this DAC does not have that option. Otherwise, solid purchase, fits perfectly on my desk, and adjusting the volume while standing and working without having to bend over is nice.

Coming from a FiiO D3 I'd say this is a really good upgrade. The sound quality is fantastic, I can't imagine anything sounding noticeably better. The feature set is also really nice, especially the auto on/off and pure dac features. I'm using the optical toslink input with a mac mini running debian Linux and the Logitech media server software. From this I play local flac files, CDs, and hi-res music from Qobuz and I really couldn't be happier with the results. I did want to use the USB input instead of toslink but the auto on/off doesn't seem to work in this mode, but that might be because of how the USB audio output works on my setup. Overall I'm happy I bought this and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality dac. EDIT: Still using and enjoying this DAC. Just wanted to update that I found a way to get the auto on/off working on Linux when using USB. Using the lsusb command I got the idVendor and idProduct of the DAC. Then you edit/create the file /etc/udev/rules.d/90-usb-power.rules and add the following line: ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="152a", ATTR{idProduct}=="8750", TEST=="power/control", ATTR{power/control}="auto" Those numbers should be the same for you if you have this same DAC so the lsusb part can be skipped. After that I rebooted the system and then the DAC was able to go into standby via USB.

I've been recording and producing records and film music since the 70s. I wanted to update my home system to approximate what "audiophiles" are listening to these days but I've been skeptical about "cheap" DACs. I watched lots of reviews. This one isn't rated that highly by the HIFI mavens on YouTube, but it's impossible to know what kind of ears even very knowleadgable guys have, and this price range was doable for me as an experiment. Well this unit sounds abolutely great, very lively and open with 6 quite useful and different musical sounding filters. As far as I can hear the version II of this model has solved the reported problems of first E30. It's a good buy.

I have a $3,500 Cambridge DAC and I would say the Topping E50 is very very close in sound quality to that DAC - I’ve already recommended this DAC to my friends. Thanks
