Great game like the movie
Really fun game if you are into ET like us. It plays as part of the movie, escaping and sending ET home with his family before he ends up grey, laying under a bridge. Detailed as his heart that grows duller from a shining beating red as in the movie as the spaceship speeds around the board and you and your friends ride Elliots gangs bikes to success. It's an easy game to play but also really fun, where all players play with the same goal in mind, getting ET home. I have a few of these style games and have found them fun with different kinds of friends. I love games but I'm not particularly competitive so to work as a team really makes it enjoyable for me. I kept my eye on the price and bought it when I felt it was a great price but it's well worth the cost considering I'll keep it for the rest of my days

E.T. Home Phone!
Excellent game that really brings to life the last stages of the film, best played against the fantastic John Williams score. The instructions are rather confusing, so it’s best to just get on and play it using cheat sheets and to refer back to the pamphlet when needed. Brilliant collaborative play, that stays true to the film. The kids can jump up ramps, have E.T. in their basket and even fly across the board. All the while being chased by FBI agents and cop cars, in a face to get E.T. to his spaceship. The box says 10+ but with adults 7+ will be fine. It also says 30mins play time but I’d say it’s nearer an hour. So good I cried at the end when E.T. said goodbye. “I’ll be right here”.

Fun cooperative game
This is a cooperative game of a style that seems to be popular at the moment. I also own Horrified and Alien : Fate of the Nostrono and this game shares a lot of the same mechanics. Players select a character from a lineup that all have different abilities. They then work together to gather items from around the board while avoiding automated enemy characters. Enemy movement is decided by dice rolls. There's also a fun gimmick of having to keep ET safe - a risk/reward element as ET can provide bonus abilities at the cost of potentially putting him in danger. Like other co-op games of this type, solo play is possible, though it's more fun with others. My first impression is that this is easier than the other games mentioned above. I've played it twice and we won both times. There is a level of challenge but experienced gamers arent probably going to be taxed unless the dice really don't favour them. There's also fewer options to raise the difficulty without actually altering some of the rules (unlike Horrified where you can just add more monsters). Overall I'd still recommend this game. It's great for families/ gaming groups who are looking for a good intro to the coop genre - it's a quick setup and the rules are pretty straightforward.

good team game with nice colourful graphics and pieces
Our family (all adults now) really enjoy playing this. Nice graphics and all pieces well made. Not over complicated but keeps you thinking and planning. I like that its' a game you all team together to play and win, it's not about one person winning. Would have liked the spaceship to have moving parts and perhaps have ET go in it at the end

Good gateway/ family board game
Fun little board game, suitable for younger members of the family, about collecting parts, avoiding the cops and building a radio device so E.T. can call in his mothership and return home. Lovely colourful minis and clear instructions make this a great little entry-level board game. Funko do it again!

Great fun
I was driven by nostalgia when I bought it. Usually I play more complex games but still this one was huge fun. Quick to learn, quick to play and many possible ways how the plot can unfold. If you are into 80's then this game has +100% to the fun :). Highly recommended.

I did not grow up watching E.T. but I had gone on the ride as a child at Universal Studios. I just watched the movie as an adult after playing the board game. I enjoyed the board game more than the movie. The game has several mechanics that I like including co-operation, pick-up-and-deliver, and action points. Co-operation: I prefer games where players work together. This is much easier in a setting with adults and younger members or teens. In a cooperative game, adults can play normally - they don't have to handicap themselves. Younger members can freely ask questions. There is less pressure on them to play independently and defeat the adult. Learning by trial-and-error (or learn by losing until the day you finally can best your uncle which will never happen in chess) works but sometimes guidance also helps and cooperative games are perfect for that. Because the game is co-operative, you can also play the game solo and control two characters. The game is colorful, the player pieces are nice and sturdy. I like that E.T. fits in the little bike basket. The cubes and dice are colorful and well made. The spaceship is unnecessarily cool but provides a nice 3-D reminder of where the mothership is. The art on the cards are all original for the game. They are professionally done. No printing errors and have thematic nods to the movie. The E.T. life counter is cute - the number is over where his heart is. I think if you are assuming that if the game has an intellectual property associated with it then it must be bad, then you need to try out games by this design team (see the end). This is the sort of game I wish I had growing up. Action points: Each turn, the player can take 3 basic actions (move, pick up candy or items) in addition to any free actions (drop items, move ET, pick-up/drop E.T., use a card). Pick-up-and-deliver: An important aspect of the game is that players need to deliver 4 matching color items to specific spots to "build" a device which is represented by a cube. Once "built" players can roll the cubes and if a phone is rolled, the ship moves closer to the forest, which is cute and thematic. Meanwhile, while players are attempting to get the space ship to come to the forest, they need to avoid the adults roaming the board. The police cards follow the dotted paths while the agents are drawn towards the kid with the matching color. If the kid or ET get caught, then E.T. loses health and the game is lost if E.T.'s health reaches 0. The game gets progressively harder as the police cars converge in the forest which is where E.T. needs to go to get picked up. While I do not think the game is difficult, I think this would be hard for a 10-year-old to read the rulebook and learn everything without someone older to help them learn the game. I think a teenager would be able to learn the game without adult help, but I would not be surprised if they missed a few rules. I did have some issues initially understanding the zones, especially because some zones look divided by dirt roads/paths/shortcuts. The rulebook is accurate but some of the images are small. I thought the game was enjoyable even if the movie was just O.K. for me. I enjoy games with mechanisms that are thematic - i.e. moving E.T. with candy and phoning home with the devices. I appreciate games with lovely art that serve the I.P. well. The game is more like a puzzle with luck and sometimes risks have to be taken. I also enjoyed playing the game while listening to the musical score with Amazon music. I highly recommend this game if you enjoy the movie. I also think this is a fun game for families to play and I think there can be a lot enjoyment of playing the game after watching the movie. This would make for a fun Friday movie night followed by playing the board game. I've included a video showing a mock set up of the game that may not be accurate, but I wanted to showcase the components and some of the artwork with a cricket background music. Other games I have enjoyed by the same design team in order of difficulty: Back to the Future: Back in Time, The Rocketeer: Fate of the Future, Pan-Am, Jurassic World: The Legacy of Isla Nublar

Big fan of this co-op game. The theme is great and the story from the movie is adapted well into gameplay. Artwork and pieces are really nice. Easy to set up and learn- but not the greatest for replay-ability. Price was great, arrived fast and everything in good condition. Recommended for fans of cooperative board games

No me suelen gustar los juegos de corte ameri, pero éste se aleja un poco de los cánones y me ha resultado muy entretenido. Además se puede jugar en solitario llevando a dos personajes, aunque la caja ponga que es a partir de 2 jugadores. No he probado a jugar llevando a un solo personaje.
