These are well constructed plugs- unfortunately, we could not use them- we bought a rental that is 40+ years old, and no boxes were in the wall- just the outlet- these were too large to fit in. Tried cutting the plaster- nothing was working!

I got these for a job where I was replacing 5 non grounded outlets to GFCI to bring the property up to code. The customer wanted to keep costs down so I took a chance getting these. I usually use Leviton products but they are pricey (though I've never had one bad out of the box). Well, I made up 6 of these the day before the install. I usually make an extra or two just in case I find something I missed but this wasn't good enough. The first 2 I installed, only 1 would set. I replaced the bad one with my extra and that worked. The next room required 3 and it was all I had left. I installed them, turned the breaker back on and surprise, only 2 would set. Now I was short one and had to run to Home Depot to grab one. This cost me time and money. I'll never purchase generic GFCIs again.

These GFCI outlets work well, I have not had any fail so far. However, the mounting screws that come with these receptacles are made from a very soft alloy. Don’t put too much torque on these little buggers or they will cam out.

IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY LOOSEN ONE OF THE SCREWS TOO FAR, THE DEVICE IS RENDERED USELESS

one was bad and I messed 1 up great for the price. Would buy again

4 of the 5 I installed less than a year ago have a solid red light which indicates end of life.I'm going to throw out the 5 I haven't installed yet. They're also massive and had trouble fitting into some electrical boxes. Spend a little bit more on a quality product.
