Does this set have anything with two magnets smashing together? Thanks for the info

I am not sure I understand the smashing together part.This set is great for preK--2 exploration. I have used the set with a preschool magnets station. The cards included give great basic instruction and ideas for what to do with the magnets. There is nothing in the set that allows them to 'smash together'. Hope that helps.

How large is the horseshoe magnet? Thanks!

how stong are the magnets?

Not very, but enough to demonstrate magnetism. The magnet that is least effective is the horseshoe magnet. I demonstrated magnetism and electromagnetism to 3rd graders. The only part that I ended up using from the kit was the copper wire and iron bar to show electromagnetism. For everything else, I went to the hardware store for bar and ring magnets.
