I've used Sikaflex before to seal along different areas (house brick to driveway, expansion joints in patio cement) and it works well. As with any product that is coming out of a tube, it can be messy. I laid down duct tape as a guide and this made for a pretty good looking job. One final suggestion is to thoroughly clean (wire brush) the areas that the product is going to contact.
