Is this good for someone with plantar fasciitis for walking in Europe?

I have had plantar fasciitis and found relief through stretching. I wear these all the time - my go to shoes. They support my arch well - I pronate.

I have 2 pair of these and after a while the bottom which touches my foot smells. I don't have this problem with any other shoes. What can I do?

Bare feet get soiled easily when wearing sandals. I use a shoe and sandal refresher that cleans and deodorizes the footbeds of my sandals. It is very easy to use (I try to do it weekly) but it depends on how often you wear yours. There are many brands of refresher/cleaners available in shoe stores and Amazon. Good luck.

I just got these, the front straps are not adjustable, it is a fixed overly on toes. Is that supposed to be tight? Mine feel a bit tight.

The front straps are adjustable SMALLER, but if they start out tight, they will not stretch. There is a layer of stretchy soft fabric under the velcro tab that I LOVE, helps prevent rubbing. However, if they fit tight across the front of the foot when you try them on, I suggest trying a larger size; you can use the velcro to make it a bit smaller, but there is no way to really make it much larger, other than a little bit of stretch in the material.

Can ECCO hold up to the waShing machine? or how do you keep it clean?

I wash mine in the washing machine all the time. It works great. Make sure your close the velcro. They will snag other clothes. I have washed them both with and without bleach. There isn't any problem with fading. They should be air dried. They tend to get tangled up in the drier.
