I did a lot of research before purchasing this and found that this was the best cocktail mixer for the money. I gave it to my children as a gift, and this has turned out to be the superstar of their get-togethers. It was simple to set up and uses the Bartesian cocktail pods. They can regulate how strong they want each drink, and the selection is endless. My daughter likes fruity drinks while my son-in-law enjoys good whiskey drinks. Even my grandchildren can get an alcohol-free mocktail that tastes great. This device has fun colorful lights that illuminate the alcohol that's being used. It's similar to using a Keurig coffee maker, and just as easy! This looks great on their bar sitting on top of the pod holder that fits perfectly under the cocktail maker. Anyone can choose the drink of their liking, and nobody has to be a trained bartender to get the mixture just right! This is the perfect gift for entertaining at any bar. It wasn't too expensive, and works great. I highly recommend this for your next party.

My husband and I originally wanted the Bartesian but weren't comfortable paying what they cost. I stumbled upon the Black & Decker Bev and boy am I glad I did. We were able to catch it on Black Friday and that really helped us feel comfortable purchasing a device we weren't sure we were going to use that often. It's well packaged and arrived undamaged. It was super easy to set up. The base of the Bev indicates which bottles need to go in which location. We simply clean the included metal straws, inserted them into the proper liquor bottles, placed in the proper location and clipped the straws into the Bev. The Bev does not include any of the flavor capsules which are needed to make the various drinks. We purchased our first group of capsules at Walmart. However, Bartesian has a better deal online and through Amazon. There are numerous different drink capsules available. They come in variety packs and individual packs. To be completely honest, I didn't think we were going to use this device as much as we do. It's perfect for us. Whenever someone wants a drink they can have a single drink and not have to mix a large batch for only one person. If different people want different drinks it's so easy using the Bev. We purchased the corded Bev. We have no need for the cordless version as we don't plan on taking this anywhere. The Bev is extremely easy to use. Simply turn on the device, put your chosen flavor capsule into the capsule area and close it, select the strength of drink you want (no, light, normal or heavy alcohol) and press mix. Within 10 second your drink is ready. The Bev is a high quality machine. It looks great on our bar and is a great conversation starter at parties. We haven't had any issues regarding leakage or anything else. However, if we do I'll make sure to come back and update my review. If you want to try the Bartesian capsule drinks this is the best way to do it, in my opinion. You get the same functionality as the Bartisan at a much lower price. If you want all of the bottles to match, you can also purchase additional bottles on Amazon. We plan on doing that in the near future. There's also a Black & Decker Bev capsule drawer that fits perfectly under the Bev allowing you to store 36 capsules in one drawer. If you're looking for a capsule drink maker, I highly suggest the Black & Decker Bev. We love ours.

My wife and I had been eyeing these for a little while but hadn't pulled the trigger until they popped up on a Prime Day sale. It's kind of a cool thing to have... First off, it seems well made. It's very sturdy, heavy (especially when all the bottle are installed) and it's also quite tall. I can't say it's really a very attractive item to have out on the counter all the time so we keep it in a cupboard. They make the whole process, from installing the bottles to making a drink, very easy. Once it's all set up you can have a cocktail in under a minute. Because of the height, I do find that we get some splashing when it's dispensing, but it's not really that big of a deal. The main drawback is the pods. They're on the pricey side. We have a store locally that stocks them but their selection is limited to just 3 or 4 choices and their prices are higher than the Bartesian website. The website has the full selection and lower prices, but then you have to deal with shipping and all that. Also, I just wish the pods had a little more punch to their flavor. I almost never use the 'strong' setting as the alcohol usually ends up overwhelming whatever taste is coming from the pod. Overall, a fun thing to have. I don't think I would have bought one if it hadn't been on sale. But it's fun to easily try out cocktails that I'd never bother to make from scratch.

We have had a Bartesian for a year and a half, and a few months ago it started leaking - we were lucky that it did not destroy our furniture! After some research, we learned of the Black & Decker cocktail maker and decided to give it a try. Its design is way superior to the Bartesian, because of a few different factors: 1. The alcohol bottles are standing up (as opposed to upside down on the Bartesian, which eventually caused the leaks) 2. There is so much more room for taller/wider bottles now! 3. You can use 5 different types of alcohol (with the Bartesian, one had to swap the gin with rum as needed). The fact that the Black & Decker model works with Bartesian pods is a plus, as we got to love those pods! And, the machine fits perfectly on the Bartesian stand that holds the pods , as you can see in the pictures. A very cool and unique feature are the lights - they bring so much fun to the atmosphere! A great buy!
