I have a big island in my kitchen for when I am cooking. Somehow I always end up with a gross pile of food waste off to the side, or I keep a small garbage bag on the island and keep stuffing garbage into that, which is annoying. One day I was scrolling thru Amazon and saw this item and thought “this would be so convenient”, so i bought one. I also happened to buy a composting machine, but i haven’t opened that yet. My original plan was to collect any food waste in this bucket and then dump it into the compost thing, but since i haven’t started using the composter, i keep a grocery bag in the bucket and every few days I tie it up and toss it in the trash. (Don’t wait too long to tie it up tho as fruit/garbage flies will show up if you do.) The bucket is made from very sturdy plastic. It does take some effort to expand it to use at its fuller capacity. As mentioned, I keep a plastic supermarket bag or the like in it so i don’t have to wash it out all the time, and now when cooking i can just scrape food waste into it and/or toss other food garbage in it as needed. I guess theoretically I could move the garbage can in front of that area and straddle it or stand next to it and then wash off anything that gets stuck on the cabinet on its way into the garbage can, but that seems like way more work, so i would much rather use this. It arrives in one piece and has a handle that slides over pretty much any drawer-front. My drawer pulls are in the way, so i have to keep the bucket more to the side, but it has become one of my staple gadgets. I literally use it for something every day. But, when it’s empty or not in use you can easily slide it off and put it away (or wash it), and it does collapse again to take up less room off the drawer or if you stick it in a cabinet somewhere. Definitely one of the handiest most used gadget in my kitchen!

My kitchen trashcan is in a slightly inaccessible place, and I can't believe how handy this little trashcan is for the bits of garbage that you'd be walking back-and-forth to throw away as you cook or prepare meals. Very easy to empty and wash, too. That said, don't be a dummy like me, and measure the cabinet or drawer where you want to hang this first! I thought my cabinets were fairly standard but there's not enough space on either side of the cabinet and drawer pulls to hang this on most of them. Plus, when it's pressed down over the edge, it jammed the drawer above. So I have to leave the cabinet or drawer where this hangs slightly open so that doesn't happen again. It's also a bit hard to pull out to full-size, but that might get easier with time. I still love it, but there's only one place I can hang it now, which is a bit of a bummer.

Best addition to my kitchen

I really wanted to like a functionality of this product, unfortunately the overhang over the drawer is too short. It could be that the decorative design that I have on my drawers impacts the fit, however, there’s no give to the lip on this product. Therefore, it just doesn’t work or fit. If you’re looking for something to go over a decorative drawer design, I would not recommend this product.

I’m amazed no one came up with this years ago. One of the handiest kitchen items I’ve ever purchased and it’s probably the simplest. Works exactly as advertised. I normally don’t like writing reviews but I’m pretty tickled with myself for buying it.

Although I don't do all of the household cooking, I love to make myself a Denver omelette on weekends that always generate a lot of waste (egg shells, pepper seeds, onion skins, etc.). In the past I would make multiple trips to the waste can or sink to get rid of this waste. However, this easy-to-use kitchen tool attaches easily to a cabinet door, has sufficient storage space for all food waste that I generate, and is easy to keep clean. I would not describe it as a game changer, but it sure makes it easier to complete common cooking tasks. This trask can is more than worth the cost.

I love this thing! It fits on all my cupboards as well as an island I have. It is so darn handy and cleans up great!

Very convenient as you can place it by hooking it on the drawer or simply place it on the table top (no support needed)! It is big enough so you don't have to empty it frequently. Easy storage as it is collapsable. Made of good quality material.
