Perfect Solution for Covering Wall Gaps Behind the Nest Thermostat
When I replaced my old traditional thermostat with the Nest Thermostat (2020), it left a large hole in the wall that the Nest didn’t fully cover. It looked pretty bad, and my options were either patching and repainting the sheetrock or finding an easier fix. This wall plate was absolutely the right choice. It covered the opening perfectly, was super fast and easy to install, and it actually looks great on the wall—very clean and finished. Highly recommend if you’re running into the same issue after upgrading to a Nest thermostat.

Great coverage, look sharp
These fit our nest thermostat's perfectly! Helped cover the large void left by the installed thermostats & saved me from painting some large areas! Looks fantastic.

Not disappointed!
Covered old standard thermostat holes. Worked well.

Did not quite work me
Had to return this. It is well made and looks real nice with the thermostat, but is definitely designed to work when the thermostat wires come through a very small hole in the sheetrock, less that 3/4" in diameter. If the hole is much bigger, it becomes very difficult in not impossible to attach the back plate to the wall. If your wires come through a junction box, then you should used one the rectangular back plates made for the 2020 thermostat. They work very well.

Great Wall plate fits 2020 nest thermostat
Found out how to tell if you have a 2020 nest thermostat, I had to go thru google since it wasn’t telling me with the serial number, please see the picture below. Fits great

The playe looks great.
The wall plate looks really nice and gives a nice transition to the wall that the HVAC control is mounted to.

Covers up those insightly holes
Used this cover plate to conceal holes in the wall after installing a Nest thermostat in place of an existing Honeywell. Rather that go through all the rigamarole of patching holes and trying to match paint colors, this proved to be an easy solution. Definitely worth it.

Add a rectangle regular controller switched to nest this covered up all the wall perfection perfectly

Outside diameter is quite large. I would prefer it to be a little smaller in diameter. Other than that it fits well and does finish it off.
