Just plane awesome
After decades of dragging a two wheeler my wrist and shoulder were complaining l loudly and begging me to change to a spinner. As a flight attendant, I don’t have time (or patience) for fussy luggage—and this 22-inch spinner from Briggs & Riley gets it. First of all, it rolls like butter. We’re talking four double spinner wheels that glide through airports smoother than a first-class upgrade. Tight aisle? No problem. This baby pivots better than me dodging a gate-change announcement. The exterior is tough enough to survive being gate-checked, dragged down jet bridges, or stuffed in the overhead bin Tetris-style. Plus, the compression-expansion system is a game-changer—it expands to fit all your layover secrets (snacks, extra shoes, and that one hotel towel you definitely “borrowed”), then compresses down to a sleek carry-on that always fits the bin. Interior? Organized like a galley cart. Mesh pockets, compression panels, and just enough compartments to make you feel like you’ve got your life together, even if you’re running on four hours of sleep and coffee fumes. Use a Beis weekender on top. No tipping, no struggles and I could easily pack for an extended trip which I really wish I’d done that time the Icelandic volcano exploded and left me stranded in Paris for 8 days. More fun than it sounds. Washing your undercrackers in the hotel coffee pot gets real old real quick. Bottom line: It’s durable, stylish, professional, and practically flies itself. If you’re living that crew life—or just want to travel like you are—this bag is your new favorite coworker.

Great bag and lifetime guarantee.
I was hesitant because of the price. Glad I purchased.I took it for a long weekend trip via airplane. I had room leftover after packing. Plenty of pockets with easy access. Spinners are smooth. Zippers are heavy duty. Bag material light yet durable. This bag was so much better to take on a short trip because of its smaller size and lighter weight. I so like this product line that I purchased a 22 inch spinner from this company for my longer trips.

Great luggage
Although a bit expensive, it is rugged and well crafted.

Classic and Functional!
I ADORE Briggs & Riley and saw this for a slightly better price than at the store. It's so smart looking, holds so much and is perfect as a carry on (empty) to pack all your purchases from trips, and a few snacks :) It fits on the handle of my larger one. I love the Navy color - it's classic. Pricey? Yes - but well worth it. HIGHLY recommend

High quality checked bag
Spending $700+ on a single bag was daunting at first. I am very glad I did it. This bag is clearly higher quality than cheaper ones. The overall sturdiness is great - without being as heavy as stuff like rimowa. My two favourite feature are: 1. The interior straps that keep your clothes from moving around once you’ve packed everything. They’re very elastic and feel like they will not break. 2. The compression packing mechanism that allows you to pack it full and then smush it down to make it smaller. I also actually think the medium is a great size because if you get the large and pack it full you will almost certainly be over most airlines weight limit.

Good Suitcase
I bought this suitcase to pair with the B&R duffle bag. The combo is perfect! I've mainly used the duffle, and my wife the suitcase. The size of the suitcase is to be expected since we're talking about standardized sizes. For most domestic travel this suitcase will fit in the overhead bin or luggage rack. However, this suitcase has a unique feature that allows you to fold up a suit or two, or a couple dresses. This makes traveling with nicer attire much easier, giving you the storage of a larger suitcase in a smaller form. The build quality is to be expected with the price tag. Immaculate, great attention to detail with leather accents and embossing, high quality zippers, etc. No loose threads or any sign of lower quality. The outside is rugged! Despite going through several trains and stations, across old parking lots and downtown sidewalks, I have zero issues with scratches. I've had one issue with this suitcase so far, hence the 4 stars. For $700 I expect a suitcase to be perfect. I read a few review about people having issues with the wheels steering straight. I experienced this problem after arriving at our hotel. After I slid the B&R duffle over the handle, I noticed that while my left hand was driving, the wheels remained perfectly straight and there was no issue. When I switched to my right hand, I could feel the wheels pulling away from me, which required me to torq the handle to get the bag to stay straight. Oddly enough, I experienced this immediately upon first use, but the problem seemed to greatly diminish after running the wheels over some asphalt through normal use. However, it's worth mentioning as I don't believe you should have a single problem when paying this much money for a single piece of luggage. Despite the amazing guarantee, who wants to have to return something so soon after purchase and pay for the extra shipping? Overall this bag does what it set out to do. I'm going to CLOSELY monitor the wheel situation, and will update my review if things change (for better or for worse).

A Simple & Convenient carry-on that's worth the money
I finally went from a B&R duffel bag to this because I wanted the convenience and it's everything that I could have asked for. There are tons of functional pockets in this, the CX system works well and it has good storage capacity. Storage: This has lots of space and the CX system really helps to get everything packed nice and tight. It was designed well and has many functional pieces/pockets all around to meet all your needs. Wheels: I purchased this even though there was a 1-star review. I really don't think I can blame B&R for that issue. I feel like the issue they're experiencing is just a design flaw of luggage with spinners. It's more of an inconvenience. I had no issues rolling this on thin carpet, perhaps they were on some rough carpet terrain. When transitioning to different surfaces I had no problem unless there was a lip that you'll find when hard floors meet carpet. You'll just have to use a little more force for that, not a big deal. The wheels in the back are bigger than the front and rolling it on the back 2 works great. Misc: The handle is sturdy enough but I feel like the telescoping part could be thicker/sturdier. This comes in when you're pushing the luggage and I found myself not fully extending the handle and keeping it closer to the bag itself. Spinners are a bit awkward in general because of the way you move these things, a variation of push/pull from above. Overall, it's a great bag that's a bit expensive. It's a nice addition to my B&R duffel bag and briefcase and I highly recommend it. I'll probably get the medium size when I travel abroad in the future. Plus, I'll probably have this quality bag for life since it's backed by a great warranty, unless of course it's lost/stolen or damaged beyond repair/totaled.

Spinner Wheels Are A Pain To Maneuver
I really want to like the Briggs & Riley Essential 22” Expandable Carry-On, but I am having a hard time doing so for a suitcase at this cost, the performance of the spinner wheels is a major disappointment. First of, it is undeniably a sharp-looking suitcase. It has a very professional, clean design that feels appropriate for business travel, and the build quality overall reflects its premium price point. The wheels simply don’t glide as smoothly as they should. When the suitcase is fully packed—especially when expanded—it becomes noticeably difficult to maneuver. The spinner wheels tend to catch and get stuck, requiring extra effort to steer, which puts unnecessary strain on the wrist and arm. Instead of rolling effortlessly alongside you, it often feels like you’re fighting the luggage just to keep it moving straight. Given how expensive this suitcase is, smooth and effortless mobility should be a given, not a compromise. While it looks polished and professional, the wheel performance significantly detracts from the overall experience and makes it harder to justify the premium price. Please fix this issue, Briggs & Riley.

Fantastic travel bags
I had purchased a Briggs and Riley wheeled carry-on and overnight bag a number of years ago at a high-end luggage store. When I needed a larger bag, I couldn’t find a match locally. Enter Amazon. They had the exact bag I needed. I’ve done a fair amount of travelling and they still look like new. They’re extremely durable (great zippers and reinforced corners), lots of pockets, easy to manoeuvre and they look classy. They are a bit more expensive, but you’re definitely paying for a high quality product. I doubt I’ll ever need to replace these.

Superior carry on
Well constructed, high quality, carry-on bag. External handle gives excellent flat interior for packing. The spinner wheels are perfect. Only used on one trip so far but expect it to last my lifetime. Rather expensive, but better than buying a new piece of luggage every 5 years or so.

Great carry on!
Love the case! Very well built and great quality. Glides very smoothly. Compression system is awesome. It is in the heavier side though so might run into weight issues with airlines. Slightly wider for continental flight- again you could run into with cabin storage issues with smaller aircraft. The suiter is not as good as Tumi. I would like to see an hangar for the suiter and a slightly bigger compartment, weight reduced, slightly, and more height adjustments for the handle. Overall great product.
