Quiet Performance Mod - Quality Engineering
First, I installed this on a 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited Sterling edition with the 5.7L equipped with the tow package. I have also installed K&N intake systems on at least 6 other vehicles over the last decade. As expected the fit and engineering is very good. It took less than 20 minutes to install - in part because there are not many factory mounting points and removal of the stock intake system takes about 2 minutes. After installing I took it for a 5 mile test drive - mainly to see what the noise level is. I was surprised how quiet the K&N system is for this vehicle. Probably the quietest intake I have installed to date, and it only has a slight grumble at full open throttle above 3,000 RPM. That is a good thing - my wife rolled her eyes when she saw the box arrive, and at idle and normal acceleration is really isn’t much louder than stock. Throttle response is slightly better and I have no idea if I’ll see an increase in mileage, but I’ve actually been happy with the 19-20 we have seen in the first 1,000 miles. As others have mentioned, be careful with the air sensor - it’s fragile but as long as you remove and replace by hand you will be fine. There is a metal coolant line on my Jeep that runs under the intake - I had to bend the bracket on the line to allow it to clear but you can also fine tune the angle of the intake tube before tightening the fittings on both sides. Looks great and I like the reusable / washable filter. I’d buy this again.

Awesome in a 2014 Durango R/T 5.7L Hemi! An increase in HP you can feel!
Fits great in a 2014 Dodge Durango R/T with no modifications. I wasn't sure if it was going to work in my vehicle because all of the information only showed compatibility with 2011-13 Durango with the 5.7L Hemi and the 2014s were a mid cycle refresh. This product fits great in a 2014 Durango R/T and I had no issues. It was very easy to install and the included instructions were clear and understandable. I was able to watch an installation video on youtube that improved my understanding of the installation and what my results should be. It took me around a hour to install the K&N filter kit and I think it looks great and sounds wonderful. I noticed faster throttle response and my 0-60 times dropped to 5.75 seconds. I was able to run the 1/4 mile in 14.04 seconds in a large SUV. I am quite pleased!

K&N Reputation & Quality
While the horsepower claims are not really important, especially in a vehicle like my Jeep the increase in induction noise is pleasant and the knowledge of being able to clean the filter and that it will last as long as the vehicle is a major pro. Install is simple, I'll just leave it at that. It does clean up the engine bay a good deal as well. There is a slight whistle that comes from the intake at low part throttle application, and it's not due to a leak as far as I can tell. Overall very satisfied with the performance and look. I caution anyone looking to purchase this that plans to regularly off-road their vehicle with K&N intakes, to flow more air it normally requires a slightly larger passage in the filter material which can allow dust to pass through the filter despite the oil in the filter which is prone to clogging in high dirt/dust environments. This is first hand advise coming from someone who has worked with numerous off-road vehicles.

Easy install, varoom varoom
I got this for my 2013 Dodge Durango R/T. The install took about 30 minutes, but we had installed one before on the Charger so everything was familiar (that one took about an hour). I have not driven with it for a full tank of gas yet, but I do see an improvement in gas mileage (although anything over 12.5mpg is an improvement lol). The sound of the air being sucked in is a nice addition and I can hear a bit more of a grumble, not much, but there is a little more. I know it increased my horsepower but seeing as I drive the Durango and not the Charger, I can't really say I notice the increase. One note, when removing the sensor - the instructions mention a clip. There is not a clip on the 2013 Dodge Durango. There is however a little plastic piece sticking out of the sensor (don't break that!) and then there is a raised plastic ledge around where the sensor is sitting, like a ramp - so the little plastic piece on the sensor is flush with the highest part of the ramp and this is what prevents it from turning and coming out. I just used some pliers on the ramp to squish (highly technical here) the ramp plastic down, kind of flattened it, and then the sensor could turn and come out unscathed. I wasn't going to be selling or using the replaced intake though, so if you are considering selling that piece you should use some lithium grease and gently lift that tiny sensor plastic piece up and over the ramp piece. But smooshing the ramp is so much easier. lol

3 stars could easily have been 5
The product came with step by step instructions on how to remove the old filter and add the intake including what parts to swap out. The reason for only giving 3 stars is when it came time to remove the airflow sensor from the old unit and place the rubber grommet on the new intake the hole had not been drilled out yet. The intake had a mark right where the picture on the instructions showed where the grommet should be placed. I had to drill my own hole and make sure there was no plastic shavings left over that could be sucked into the engine. Other than that the step by step instructions were spot on and the install process was very easy. Could easily have been 5 stars. Noticable change in engine sound and response, have not used long enough to notice a change in gas mileage.

Unless I'm Missing something...
I'm not fully persuaded this actually fits my 2014 Jeep GC 5.7L Summit. I do a ton of auto work on my own cars and this should have been a simple 15 min project. Most of the time spent taking off my stock intake and all the plastic! But, once I began trying to 'fit' the rubber flange thru the heat shield, it became apparent it was not going to be easy. even with lubricant. So I took about 1 hr + to manually file the hole larger until I finally could get the rubber flange thru the heat shield. Once i did that, I began to fit the filter on to the flange and went to attach to my intake body. That is when I realized that there was no rubber adapters to connect that end since I had used the one supplied to attach the pipe to the flange on the hear shield. I also discovered at that point, the the heat shield, was not configured to seat on my factory mounts like the old box. Not only that, I'm afraid if i did try and mount it on those studs, the edge of the metal heat shield would eventually wear a hole in my plastic washer tank with normal vibrations. So, in the end, 2 hours later, i scrapped the heat shield, moved the rubber mount connector to the throttle body intake side, and tighten it up. The intake now rests on my A/C tubing at the filter end which I'm not happy about. Normal vibrations may eventually damage an A/C line. If truly this product really was designed for my year Jeep, it is a poor design. We aren't really building rocket ships here. I bought K&N thinking the Big name would have the right design for a plug-n-play install.
