Very good for daily computer work and internet browsing. Never tried for gaming yet.

Great CPU and Great Platform!
This has proven to be an excellent upgrade for me. I moved from the X79 platform to the X299 platform, and I have been pleased so far with the performance improvement.

Intel is way overpriced but this 7800x does perform very well if money isn’t a huge factor for you.

I bought a 7800x when they came out I got lucky coming from a respectable 2500k @ 4.7. My chip can hit 5ghz easy and if I had a delid along with my big water setup I could get 5.2. That is a 100th percentile CPU!. If you are looking at it as of Oct 5 2017 get a coffeelake instead save the power.

I jumped the gun on this and didn't know there were other chips better suited towards gaming. So far this hasn't disappointed me at all. I'm coming from an I7-4790k which is still great chip. This is billed moreso as the productivity chip for content creators. I play 1440p and 4k whenever possible. I haven't noticed any FPS drops outside of the norm or other problems while playing modern games all.

Nice CPU with flat price. As t he i7 7820x price droped, it is recommend to buy a i7 7820x.

i7-7800x idle temps usually in the 20c range
i7-7800x. Runs well, and stays around high 20s to low 30s idling, and no higher than 60c gaming. Using a Noctua NH-U14s cpu cooler.

Potenza ad un costo contenuto.
Questo processore, anche se non rappresenta il top di gamma della nuova serie di cpu prodotte da Intel rappresenta una ottima scelta per un pc da gaming. Personalmente, l'ho affiancato ad una scheda madre Asus ROG Artic X299-E ed uno sli di 1080Ti. Inoltre, usando un sistema di raffreddamento cooler master "MasterAir Maker 8", ho overclockkato il sistema di un 34% senza compromettere la stabilità del sistema.

Work horse, reliable and powerful.
I bought the i7-7800x, I overclocked it to 4.9Ghz using a 360mm water cooler and I'm using it for CFD simulations using small meshes, where parallelisation does not benefit much from 4-6 cores. The poor chip has been running full load 24/7 since I bought it (about a month ago) and its still going strong. Thoroughly impressed.

Tut was er soll. Overall specs sind akzeptabel. Guter Einstieg in die Skylake X Klasse. Limited to max 28 Express Lanes. Nativer DDR4-2400 Support. Im Oc auf 3200 moderate Temperaturentfaltung und stabil. Begeistert.
