Q: Can you use this the make Makgeolli?

Hi Jenn, thank you for your query regarding making Makgeolli, or Korean rice wine. Our fermentation crock can certainly be used as it has the water channel. You can choose to ferment your rice in the anaerobic environment (water moat filled) or allowing oxygen in by leaving the water moat empty. Our crock can be used to make any form of fermented food/beverage like kefir, as well as used for sourdough starter. As the crock is a thick ceramic, with food-safe glaze, you should be able to retain a stable temperature for your Makgeolli. The ideal temp should be around 64.5 - 75F. The crock is used to ferment food anywhere from a few days, up to many months. So making Makgeolli in the crock would be suitable. Have fun and enjoy!

Q: Can I buy the 5L lid only? I broke mine.
