does this crimp Cat 6 cables

The answer is yes, it does crimp both cat 6 and cat 5 grade RJ-45 connectors. While the connectors are different internally, from the outside, they are identical.

I've never stripped a cable with the crimping tool before. Does this crimper do a good job at that?

hey Zack! although this tool will strip the plastic sleeve from the Cat5 cable I never use this. not sure whether you know this or not and pardon me if I'm stating the obvious but you don't strip the individual strands on Cat5 cable. anyway, I use a little yellow cable stripper to "strip" the plastic sleeve from the Cat5 cable, if you like I can find it for you, it's a simple yellow plastic tool that's around $7 I think. you place the Cat5 cable in the tool, it clamps down and you twist the tool around the cable 2-3 times, works well. I've never used the tripper in the crimping tools, they always cut into the strands too much imo

Will this work on shielded RJ45 connectors?
