Iron Bamboo Rustic Walking Stick

Light, and excellent height, I use the 58 inches size. Bamboo is light and strong. I do not overstress the stick prying downed tree branches. I've been using the sticks I find along the river, up to now, for river shore hiking. Now this is my FIRST ever store bought walking stick, just to check out how a store bought higher quality stick compares to what I gather and have used for years. Where I hike, Ohiopyle State Park, the Youghiogheny river shore massive and medium size 'boulder fields' up and down the river at the Park, there are yearly deposited "beaver cut walking stick" sized sticks, that I've been using, and my truck bed is full of all my "backup" walking sticks. I wanted to see and compare a store bought stick, the people who made the bamboo stick I purchased did a good job. I've done the toughest sections of the river shore boulders, and the rubber tip is quite helpful. I will be purchasing MORE tips, as I really put the rubber tip to high volume use, and rely on it not slipping, and it works well. Thankyou Brazo's stick makers, the bamboo one is a pass by me. 58 inch because I constantly am using the longest size of the sticks, to steady my scrambling between and to and from boulders.

The second one I ordered. Both are very well made, excellent finish and workmanship. Very light and strong, you control it, it does not control you as a convential one would which would be much heavier.

What's so lightweight that it feels like it's made of plastic, but so strong that you can't even flex it slightly no matter how hard you try? THIS STICK. I purchased the dark brown "Iron Bamboo" stick. It's very straight, only slight deviations from true, slight knots, as you'd expect from bamboo, however this does not feel like bamboo in the hand It's just as light, but it's a lot more solid. It feels like congealed air. It's so light in fact, that if you're looking for a staff for possible self-defense, I would look for a heavier one, perhaps the hickory version, although I can't vouch for that one because I do not own one. Still, it's a really great feeling stick in the hand. Highly recommend.

I love this company. The prices are modest, and the sticks are nice-looking and sturdy. They also help. I have a minor nerve damage in my left foot, and this remedies it.

I just received my second Iron Bamboo walking stick from Brazos. In view of the review citing "cracks" I gave my new one a very careful inch-by-inch going over. It's perfect. As with my first stick I will give it a couple of coats of furniture wax except for the section where my hand will go. Natural oils from my hand will do for that area and will make it less slippery and more hike-worthy. I was tempted to get a hickory stick but they're noticeably heavier. And I think the swirly-curlies on some sticks are bullshit. Bamboo is a remarkable grass with an extraordinary strength-to-weight ratio and a delightfully understated figure. My first stick was bamboo as well. It was clear-coated. I'm not sure if I really like the finish on this new one but it's the stick that counts. This is my second stick for one reason. While I was perfectly pleased and well-served by the first I was recently the subject of a Search and Rescue extraction here in my own personal mountains. My stick was lost in the process. So, nearly two weeks later, I'm here to tell you I wasted no time in acquiring another. And I'm very, very happy with it. 4-1/2 stars for the excellent stick, 1/2 star for the excellent service and packing (again) for shipping. Upward and onward. Mama Driscol's Pride and Joy

Bamboo walking stick. Great item

Bought it as a gift. Beautiful stick, very appreciated, but I had to buy the rubber tip at Walmart (1" diameter in case this happens to you too). I would have liked the rubber tip that was advertised/shown in the product description, since it comes in the right colour and has the company crest. So I was a little disappointed. I filled out and submitted Brazos customer support form 2 days ago, hopefully I get a positive response.
