Buy this 12k btu. Works flawlessly. The air is too cold...lol.. simple easy to use. Installs so easily. At first use it ran about 20 seconds then it felt like I was in Alaska. Super cold air. It has the energy saver feature. It won't affect your electric bill. Great price at 280. Buy this now.

Works exactly like it should . Have had it over 2 years in Southern Colorado. Still keeps us cold in the summer. Would get it again if on sale.

It takes a little getting used to because it seems to reset to the "auto" position after it's been turned off, and I like the fan on high even though that's a little noisy. Quality of the machine overall is good. The ECO setting is perfect - both the fan and compressor shut off when the temp is reached (as opposed to most window units that the fan stays in all the time and just the compressor kicks off ). It fits a single window well, though the self stick weather stripping did not stay stuck. I wound up caulking around it and figured it would be easy enough to clean off when we remove it for the winter. The buttons are hard to read, mainly because my windows are low, but I took a picture of the control panel so I can blow it up on my phone and determine what light is actually lit. I think the writing on the label could be a bit darker and the LED lights could be a bit brighter. (I swear, I'm not going blind!) Overall, it's definitely worth the money I spent. Not sure if they recommend a dedicated circuit, but I think that should be the case. It draws quite a bit of power when the compressor kicks in.

Works absolutely amazing. My room traps heat like no other and it gets well above 80° in here during the summer. Since installing it’ll get my room cold enough to the point I can have a hoodie and sweatpants off and be more than comfortable. 4 stars because there’s no auto options, not remote. It also runs kind of loud but both of those things can be easily overlooked bc it cools the room so well, and you get used to the noise quickly

The good: AC unit was delivered in a timely manner and the delivery person went the extra mile and brought it up 2 flights of stairs so that it was on my doorstep when I got home. Also I got a good price on it. It sells on Amazon, at this time, for about $70 more. And my wife and I like the Black and Decker brand. In the past she lived close to a refurbishing factory in the south and spoke highly of it and bought many products of theirs with no problems. The bad: Right out of the box there was an oily film on the bottom left hand side that I noticed when I was installing the unit in the window. Thought maybe it was me sweating at first but after it was all installed and I hit the power button it blew warm air. I let it run for about 15 minutes while I read the troubleshooting guide. Took the filter out and made sure the temp sensor wasn't too close to the condenser as per the manual. Still no cold air. Now I'm guessing the oily film has to do with a leak and the refrigerant is gone. The Ugly: I think the Amazon return process is very easy, and they are gonna pick it up for free from my home. What is gonna be ugly is packing this 70lb bad bitch up in it's original box sturdy enough to get it down two flights of stairs and making it proper for the delivery person. I'm not sure when or where the damage happened i.e quality control, delivery process, whatever. It just sucks that it was all a waste of time for everybody during the whole process. So there is nothing left to do but try it again with a Frigidaire and hope for the best this time. Wicked Pissah Bub!!!

5stars for how well this works, iy is keeping the laundry room/kitchen area cool like shoud be happening. Because some complained of dents in the AC I will say this....our unit has a dent in the grating on the side however because there is no damage to the box this damage occurred at the factory thus the seller is most likely not to blame. So, knocking his review down a star is not fair....if your read this then the review scanners have agreed this is acceptable info for all customers! We were given a date when purchased of only 3 days delivery but the shipper gave a different date of a week later which dismayed us considering this was needed during the 100* weather the midwest was dealing with. Thankfully the item was delivered a few days sooner. Just in time for the cooler weather. But it was easy to install. My husband did the work by himself & all is happy. Especially the dog because his crate is in the laundry room!!

Wholly moly this window unit is great. It is the first one I have ever bought. Currently house central ac is down and I don’t have the money right now to drop 10k. So I purchased this unit as it had solid reviews. Probably the most in Amazon. It blasts cold ac , I have it set at 74 all day. And the unit doesn’t run constantly even during the hot 90-95 NC summer weather. Our downstairs is about 600-650 square feet. And surprisingly this 12kbtu unit that’s only rated at cooling 550aq ft. Keeps our downstairs colder than our central ac in its prime did. Right now the energy bill has been cheaper with it than central ac as well. Who would have thought.
