Delicious when paired with nuts and dried fruits โ no added sugar
Amul 99% Cacao Chocolate is an excellent choice for chocolate lovers who want to avoid added sugar. It has an intensely bitter taste when eaten on its own, so it may take some getting used to. I have found a simple way to make it much more enjoyable: eat a small piece along with naturally sweet foods such as raisins or dates. The combination of nuts, raisins or dates, and a small piece of this 99% cacao chocolate is absolutely delicious. You get the richness of dark chocolate and the sweetness from dried fruit without needing chocolate with added sugar. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys dark chocolate and is looking to reduce added sugar in their diet.

BITTER! But all is not lost
Yeah I saw the 99% cocoa written in big bold letters, read the reviews saying that it's bitter, but STILL bought it because I was stupid enough to think that I can tolerate it. Well, I just couldn't. It was like intentionally torturing yourself. I thought if I kept it in the mouth long enough, the cocoa butter would melt, and make things better. But it was bitter through and through and through! Well, I didn't just want to throw away the whole thing, so I thought of an idea. Heated up some water in a small vessel and added this chocolate in it piece by piece. Then I added around 3 tbsp of coconut sugar to it and mixed it all together. That's only around 37 to 40 g of sugar for the whole thing, which I'll be consuming over several days. Plus coconut sugar has low glycemic index anyway. Well, it turned out better than I expected. It honestly tasted pretty good. Still was a little bitter but this is dark chocolate after all. I think I'm going to make this a regular thing! I know I could just buy 70% dark chocolate which has sugar added, but there was around 60g refined sugar with 190g chocolate making a total of 250g. Here it's 250g chocolate + 40g sugar and we can control what kind of sugar we add.
