Good for headless usage

If you're an absolute beginner to the Raspberry Pi, this is probably not the system for you, as you should consider looking into the more user-friendly versions (such as the Raspberry Pi 4, or the Pi 400.) However, if you're a more advanced user who already knows how to use a computer and is comfortable with using the command line (terminal), then this is a wonderful, fun option to consider! Here's what I love about it:1) It's excellent for those who want to set up a headless configuration.2) You can use it as a server (database, file server, filtering ads [pi-hole], etc.)3) It's perfect for learning how to use the command line, practice console-based programming skills, etc.4) It's small and low cost! What you might want to know:1) I tried installing the full version of the Raspberry Pi OS and it tends to be a bit too sluggish (in my opinion). To me, it's more designed for console work.2) There is only one USB port (while the second is used for power only), which works best with the Raspberry Pi Keyboard and Mouse combo.3) It does not use a standard HDMI port, but a micro-HDMI port instead.Overall, I really love mine, but keep in mind that it's a bit more of an advanced "specialty" system than an absolute beginner-friendly system for first-timers (predominately kids) who are just getting started their first experience with the Raspberry Pi brand.

Great kit with couple of small gotchas

Almost everything you need to get started with the pi zero. I thought I have the correct hdmi cable but i was wrong you need a mini hdmi to standard hdmi. (I had micro, doh.) Then I ran into an issue with my elbowed OTG connector pointing toward power connection so i could use both at same time, second doh. Once i got past these issues the thing has worked flawlessly and I am amazed by its performance being so small. This is a great package.

Great for learning Linux.

This is a great computer for anyone wishing to learn Linux from the bottom up. (All the Pi's are, but this one is CHEAP and it comes with WiFi that is native and does not need a wrapper.) If only Raspian Lite is loaded, then you get a real Linux Distro (Debian) and no desktop to allow you to cheat. The student must learn from the command line and with raw Linux commands. With the onboard WiFi (very easy to set up) you don't even need a monitor and keyboard - you can just start an SSH session from your usual desktop or laptop and use it for input/output.Unlike a standard Linux desktop that might take an hour to reinstall, this one requires one command to the SD card from your Mac or PC, so, if you are poking around in the innards and your fat finger borks the OS, just rewrite the microsd card and keep going. If you have a spare SD ready, then it takes about ten seconds to come back up.Actually, this is a new version of the original 1981 IBM PC - single core, flat memory, FAT filesystem, video, keyboard and optional mouse - except that it is about 600 times more powerful, 500 times the memory and thousands of times the disk space. And about 1/500th the original price.

Probably your best bet for finding this anywhere close to the retail ...

Probably your best bet for finding this anywhere close to the retail price of $10, plus you get the 1 amp PSU and the case with multiple lids and camera cable that works with the lid that has the single hole in the center. The PSU is a bit of an up sell since these things can probably run ok on .5a chargers, but it's much better made and shouldn't ever give you trouble no matter what you attach to it within reason.

Small, Functional, Affordable!

Tiny, tiny, tiny computer! The case comes with several lids for different applications and the board fits into the case by pulling it across for the little secure tab to clip-on to the board. The photos don't do it justice on how small this full computer really is. To have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on such a small form factor is amazing! I have mine running a web-server for an internal intranet and it runs beautifully. You can't go wrong for the price, in the age of computers this is history in the making. Get your kit today! I hear these are really awesome for robotics as well.

They say you shouldn't use a wireless Pi Hole but mine works great, plenty of throughput and runs for months

All went together well, I use this one as a Pi Hole. They say you shouldn't use a wireless Pi Hole but mine works great, plenty of throughput and runs for months. If you're using the camera, it won't fit in the case with the heat sink in. A common problem with every Pi Zero case I have seen.

Nice kit thoughtful

Nice kit. I like the various covers provided. It was nice of CanaKit to provide a small to big camera strip as I forgot to think about this when buying a pi camera. The pi fits snugly inside the case and they also supply a little heat sink for the CPU but not sure if it's necessary. Still used it though, comes with an adhesive mounting pad for the heat sink, you just peel off the plastic part and stick it onto your cpu.Remember to put in your SD card first before putting the pi into the case. Similarly thread the camera ribbon through. It's also nice that they have the bottom piece (red) have the access area (cutaway) I wanted the pins on top so I didn't have to use that.

Impressive for the price...

A full-blown Debian Linux system for under $23 - amazing. I installed Stretch onto this, in headless style, with no issues. I added a 32GB microSDHC, dropped the Raspbian image directly via a Windows app, configured my WiFi and was good to go. I'm not sure what all I will use this for, but have a number of ideas. I'm already running Homebridge. I did not install the heat sink after reading a bit: once on, it's not safe to take off and the camera will not fit into the case with the heat sink on. I'm monitoring the on-board temp sensor and it's well within operating range.
