Amazon probably don't like these reviews as I'm touting competitor products, but the Google range is excellent.The original Nest Hello doorbell is still, in my opinion, the best - yes, it needs wiring in, but that means a permanent (and live) video stream availability, a great signal to WiFi, and next to no delay in contacting you about motion events, the doorbell, etc.I actually bought this for my Mother-In-Law as we already had one and it was so simple to setup and show them how to use it. They love it.

Had this at our old house and bought again, useful to connect with Google home as doesn’t need a chime box, find it useful to be able to respond when the doorbell rings if I can’t get there.

I loved that you could use the Nest app or the Google home app as I already had the Nest wireless thermostatic heating controls, great picture

Absolutely rubbish. Has connectivity issues. Cannot find a compatible chime to save a life, does not detect well at night so night vision is not great either. It plays a sound on the device itself when the doorbell is pressed. The sound is played OUTSIDE of the house which only the person outside can hear, which is a very useless feature. A person could be ringing my bell for hours and i wouldn’t know so i doesn’t have a good functionality.

About to return 2nd unit - had first one for years, which was one of the most appreciated bits of tech in the house until the microphone broke just after warranty expired.Google couldn't fix and suggested I wait for the sale and buy a new one.Reluctantly did that, but the new unit now won't go into pairing mode despite many fiddly attempts to reset; seems to be a common issue so sending this back and will look at other options.One thing worth noting from long term usage is that there seems to be a permanent minimum lag between button press and app respondong (10 seconds+, low quality pic mode, on same network with full signal WiFi and high speed internet). Fine if you have a chime and you're at home but frustrating when out and about.

Perfect and as described, things no one tells you:1) it’s a nightmare to set up the google speakers as a door bell for the sound of the chime (still can’t get it to work)2) if you want it to record after a month of putting it in you have to sign up to a rolling contract ££3) it goes off when an insect fly’s past

Google Nest products are great, but it’s important to know this is a ‘wired’ device, it does not run off a battery like competitor Arlo. Very important to keep in mind when purchasing.
