ROG Thor 1000W Platinum II Fully Modular Power Supply with 1000W, 80+ Platinum, ROG Heatsinks, 135mm Fan, 0dB Mode, OLED Display, Aura Sync

OK let’s face it. You don’t know me. But I am a huge ASUS fan and I have been buying their products for years. However, I have only purchased motherboards, video cards, monitors, but I’ve never purchased a power supply of their brand. I did my research and I ended up getting this one because I needed 1000 W and I was looking for something add long-term and something that has had good reviews and most of all that had a really good rating. And this one delivered all that. Now I’ve been running this for a month now and I can tell you it’s very powerful and it runs cool and very quiet. All the bells and whistles are not a plus for me but it may be for you like the lights on the side and it’s cool mirror look, but mine will be hidden and not viable for the naked eye. So I needed something to add a good rating and a good warranty. My last power supply lasted nine years so, I chose this and I am so glad I did. If you look at all the specs, everything matches up and then some. They have had years of pros and cons to all their products in their brand, but I’m here to tell you this one delivers. But like anything, do your research, pay attention to what you need in your environment, but I honestly feel this would be a good fit for just about anybody that needs this much power.

I know what you're saying 220 dollars is a lot of money for a PSU and you'd be somewhat right but this PSU has custom cables... cable combs, and an oled screen all while being 1,000w for 220 dollars currently on amazon new. You can't get much better. I needed another 1000w PSU as I got a 4090 and wanted to give my wife my 3090. She has my old Prime 1000W that has been doing great. This is a slight downgrade to me kind of I like the oled screen so that is a plus and I wanted to clear up the cables so having customs over extensions were nice. If you were to buy this psu seasonic branded it would be about 260 or 280 so this is actually much better value when you include cables and oled screen if you can benefit from the screen might as well IMO. ** CON *** As people have mentioned the marketing / selling makes it confusing this does not come with a 4000's series cable. It comes with the one that fits a 3090ti I believe. But it is not braided. I bought one directly from cable mod so ignore the photo this isn't to mislead anyone. But you have been informed here. Overall happy with my purchase. But again for $220 from amazon new even if you have to buy a separate 4090 cable from cable mod it's still good value in my opinion based on the quality unit you get plus the cables. I was consider getting the MSI 1300 new atx standard psu but it was 360 and I just didn't need that extra juice so for the price and the oled screen I think you can't go wrong. If you need a psu get this one it should last. Only concerns I have are the warranty not sure how good Asus is but considering this is a solid unit made by Seasonic I feel like it's going to last what it's rated for.

Tested PSU as soon as it arrived. Tested good, mounted it in the case. Waiting on the rest of the parts. LEDs are good for new "Display PC" case. Modular cables eliminate cord clutter.

Everything down to the packaging on this psu is amazing love it so much.

I'm somewhat a neophyte when it comes to building PCs- this was my 3rd and I went all Asus for everything. Mind you this was purchased a few months after the 4090 came out but it looks slick and glad I can show it a little through the Hyperion case. Modelular cables let's me avoid excess and wasting space, and it handles the load of a 4090, 10 fans, liquid cooler, 670 extreme mobo, etc. Although some may argue Asus ROG stuff is overpriced, they seem to consistently deliver. I've purchased many compliments and peripherals of theirs and the first and only time I had an issue was with a headphone stand/charger which I was able to RMA with a modest wait so I will gladly pay more for a brand I can trust

Great power supply but it’s only a 12 pin, not 16 pin.

It's pretty clear that ASUS subs out their power supplies to Sea Sonic. I'm a big Sea Sonic fan and have purchased power supplies from then over the last 12 years or more. These are excellent power supplies, and this supply is really nice. I love the real-time power/watt usage display and the RGB is cool too (but that's not the reason to buy it!). About the only complain I have is the ARGB plug is on the left side of the modular plugs, so as normally mounted you need to route the ARGB cable across the cables you have plugged in. I picked this up for $220 shipped around the holidays / December 2022. I wouldn't pull the trigger on the normal price. It is a solid supply and the cable set it comes with is really nice. Oh, mine did come with the new 4090 power cable. You can request it as others have mentioned if you didn't get it and it will be sent free to you by ASUS from what I understand. The 12VHPWR supplied cable as supplied is not braided.

Es una fuente muy bonita en cuestión de estética, 100% recomendada.

Me fascino desde que abrí la caja hasta su instalación en el pc, tardo un poco por ser importado, pero llega todo lo que indica la descripción junto con el cable de 16 pines.

Alimenta perfectamente mi 4090, pero carece del cable PCIE 5.0, debe comprarse por separado

Ya más de dos meses que empezó a fallar. Se sobrecalienta cuando esta bajo mucha carga (llegué a ver alrededor de 650W) y termina crasheando el software que este utilizando en ese momento. Me contacté via telefonica con Asus México, me dieron un número de reporte y me dijeron que contactara a el vendedor, este es Amazon México. Amazon me dijo que es un tema que debo ver con Asus. Esta vez contacté a Asus por correo y me han dicho que es un equipo con garantia sólo válida en E.U. y para hacerla válida tengo que ser yo el responsable del envio y contar con una dirección postal en ese país. Soy el que se jode aquí. :( Saludos y suerter.
