Fun and adorable
Absolutely love my Wooble! As someone whoโs never touched yarn before, this kit made me feel so confident right away. The penguin project was exactly what I wanted, easy enough for a novice but still fun and cute. The materials are top-notch: soft yarn thatโs easy on the hands, and the crochet hook included is perfectly sized. The instructions are clear and simple, with step-by-step photos and videos that made it feel like I had a friend guiding me through each stitch.

Adorable, excellent tutorial with video support for Beginner-crocheters!
Buy this! What a fun project! I broke my ankle and wanted to use my time to learn something new, and this kit really delivered! The videos walk you through everything you need to know, pausing between each little step, so you donโt get lost. I chose the lion design to gift to my grandmother who is a Leo and unfortunately isnโt doing well. This particular design was more complex than I thought, and I did make a few mistakes, but the final product still looks decent if a tad lopsided! I felt very accomplished for my first ever stab at crochet and learned a great deal of stitches that I feel I can replicate on other projects. I appreciate the videos so much and being able to rewatch them to understand the particulars about how to construct various stitches. There was really only one complicated stitch step that I couldnโt quite figure out from the tutorial, but after creating 37 of the stitches to build the mane of the lion, I finally got the hang of it! Very cute, very bent toward success for beginners, user-friendly, clear, and encouraging! Saw this in a NYTimes Wirecutter article and was so glad it came across my screen when it did! I think the experience was worth the price!

Great beginner project - youโll learn a lot!
This is a great beginner kit for crochet. I had no experience with crochet and ended up with a cute gift for a friendโs birthday! It definitely was a challenge but just enough to keep going. Here was my experience that I wish someone had shared with me to make sure I wasnโt completely off: 1) Started with the pre-started magic circle. Super confused with the stitches initially, as you jump immediately into the โincrease stitchโ which is two single crochet stitches on the same โvโ hole. The video walks you through the first couple rounds and itโs intimidating to go by yourself. Felt like I was in over my head! I made a couple mistakes and ended up โfroggingโ - removing all the stitches I made a few times. TIP: Donโt be afraid to restart - the starter piece does not unravel! You just have to look out for the โvโ since the stitch marker is removed. I also completed Pierre over a few days (2+ hours a day, total 8+ hours?) and felt my muscle memory improved! 2) Counting stitches is really confusing initially. Definitely write it down as the videos advise! TIP: Donโt forget to put your stitch marker in each round! When I got faster, I forgot and had to undo a bit to count everything again. 3) Right before you stuff the body and start the decrease stitches, it will look kinda big. This is normal. Stitching the piece closed with the tapestry needle was less intimidating than I thought it would be. 4) The white tummy was initially frustrating, there was always a hole no matter how tight I did the โeasierโ method. I clicked โhelpโ and ended up doing the magic circle which was less difficult than I thought because of the step by step. TIP: For the magic circle, make the slip knot, chain stitch, and crochet stitches bigger than your regular stitches as they will become smaller when you pull it to make a circle! (I got really frustrated initially as I couldnโt put my hook through, and loosening the stitches helped) 5) Sewing the tummy to the body - redid this a few times to make sure it was really centralized between the eyes, and at the right height! 6) Beak - another magic circle! With experience under my belt, I took my time to try to do this from memory, made a lot of mistakes, and really absorbed the concept. Remember to turn the piece inside out. 7) Wings - a little complicated as it incorporates chain stitches, turns, and slightly more 3D. TIP: When you start to sew the wing flat at stitches 1&2, put a stitch marker across stitches 7&8 as it will become harder to see them. Make sure you follow the instructions on attaching the piece correctly each time. If youโre a stickler, make the wing pieces first before sewing on - mine ended up slightly different sizes but it adds to the charm (and I was so happy to be done!) 8) HOOKED! Ended up giving the piece to a friend and tried to make a second Pierre. Didnโt have enough yarn by round 10 so I had to give it up and make a tiny one! Thinking about getting Wooble. Bought regular yarn and ohhhh easy peasy yarn is SO much easier to work with. Thanks Woobles for introducing me to this hobby! Experienced crocheters may consider this pricey but for a total beginner like me this was a great kit to not have to think about getting all the yarn colors, correctly sized hook, yarn, and eye pieces! Looking at other free tutorials and patterns as my next step, none of them are as straightforward. Big kudos to Woobles!

Good for beginners
I bought this kit for my 10-year-old daughterโs birthday because she wanted to learn how to crochet but had no prior experience. The kit is perfect for beginners and includes everything you need to get started. Itโs a bit pricey, but the convenience makes it worth it. It comes with a barcode you can scan for step-by-step video instructions, which are clear and easy to follow. There are also several โI need helpโ options in the videos that link to additional troubleshooting clips. One important tip: Do not take the yarn apart when you open it! My daughter did, and she lost the starter section (the โmagic ringโ), which made it harder to begin. Not a big deal if you already know how to crochet, but it caused some backtracking for us as beginners. I wish they had a "do not take apart" sticker on the item so that other eager 10-year olds do not make the same mistake. Just scan the code and watch the video instructions before you do anything. The yarn is thick enough to handle easily, making it ideal for little hands learning the stitches. The finished crochet animals are very cute but small. Just the right size for a beginner.

Awesome kit for beginner
I hesitated to spend more on the Woobles brand specifically when there are lots of other crochet kits. I was wrong- itโs worth it! The videos you get access to really make it very easy to get started. I even learned to crochet left-handed (I am right-handed) so I could help my 8 year old learn to do it. Zero frustration, just successful stitching and a happy kiddo. Well worth the extra money compared to other kits (we tried!)

Great Raffle Prize
I love Woobles! I bought this one as a raffle item and it was a big hit with the kids and teens! The price is a higher than other similar kits because it comes with a step by step videos, anll the materials you need including an hook, and it is pre-started. Great for beginners and super cute!

Great Starter Kit, But Still Has Room to Improve
These are great kits for anyone wanting to start to learn to crochet. Iโve completed 4 of this brand of kit so far. I think the penguin is the perfect kit to start (although I did the bunny first). The penguin is easy enough to do. What I like about Woobles: โข The kits come with a pre-started magic ring with your first 3 stitches marked. โข The videos are broken into tiny chunks with each step explained and easily watched as many times as necessary. โข Most supplies come with the kit, but you will need a pair of scissors. โข Iโve never run out of yarn and have always had a decent amount leftover. โข You get the pattern when you sign up for their website and can print and make as many more penguins as you want with different colors and styles of yarn. So buy the kit once, make it as many times as you want. Things that could be improved: โข A pre-printed pattern card would be nice for anyone that doesnโt want to rely solely on the videos. (Yes, I know you can go into your account and download the pattern, but it would be nice if included). Bonus points if itโs laminated so you can use a dry erase marker on it. Iโve seen this in another kit and that was a game changer for tracking progress. โข Iโve seen several other kits include a set of scissors. Thatโs been nice, especially when they work. โข Iโve seen other kits include a bent needle and that would be helpful to add as I find it easier to maneuver. โข Iโve seen other kits offer both weighted beads and stuffing and thatโs been a nice touch. So far, the kits that Iโve done from Woobles only have stuffing. โข Price: compared to other kits, these are on the higher end and do not appear to go on sale or are only discounted 10% or so. Iโve seen other kits, which include more and have decent videos to follow for about $10 less and go on sale 30-40%. Overall: I do love these kits and all of my plushies have turned out great following the instructions provided.

More affordable options out there
I really liked this kit. However, i wish it came with printed instructions like other kits. Plus this is really expensive for what it is. Amazon and Hobby Lobby both have more affordable options with printed instructions. I probably wont purchase unless price signaficantly decreases

Learn to crotchet
Bought for my granddaughter, at her request. She was disappointed in that the video was much too short for her to grasp the information offered

Super cute and great instructions!
I love everything Woobles! If you are learning to crochet use one of their kits! If you have tried to learn before and failed (like me), use their kits! If you just want high quality amigurumi kits, look no further. I canโt wait to buy more!

Perfect
My daughter liked her and had a good time at her work and it was very easy to explain it in the video in detail

Too expensive!
I bought this crochet kit because of all the good reviews. Turns out, it is just overpriced t-shirt yarn. Amigurumi is not made with t-shirt yarn. The video is too long. There is no printed instruction booklet either.
