I read lots of complaints about no 4k disc reading, but maybe that was for the pro. does this read blueray hddiscs? and reg dvd

No version of the PS4(Original, Slim or Pro) have the ability to play 4K Blu-rays. All versions DO support standard Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. FYI: 4K Blu-rays come in a black box that say “UHD 4K Blu-ray” on top while standard Blu-rays come in a blue box that just say “Blu-ray Disc” on top.

Does do console come by its self or with cables and controller..?

do i have to have this online when i first hook it up?

No ya don't need dl to have it on line to play. only games that say online required a lot of updates are done from disk so no internet. and only if ya playing on line does it require you to to hook I up to the internet. If ya don't play on line or use online facilities then it isn't requi
